Radisson Blu Hotel, Lucerne

Location was excellent, walkable to train station and main attractions, quite a few restaurants nearby within walking distance. Breakfast was very good, except the coffee. Coffee was disappointing, tasteless. I dislike these machines they use nowadays.

The artificial smell in the lobby. The scent they use to "enhance" the smell of the place, use by too many hotels in abundance, was unpleasant. Every time we walk in I have to hold my nose.

A bit expensive

The hotel is well located by the station, the old town and the lake. It's also near the bathing area on the lakeside. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My room was generously proportioned, offered great views of the lake and had excellent facilities. Breakfast offered a generous selection. The sauna and steam room, along with an adjacent relaxation lounge, were superb. I was particularly impressed with the attentive staff on reception.

I'd recommend going to breakfast either very early or very late as it gets very busy and is not a relaxing experience. The sauna and steam room were supposed to be on for 5pm. This was not the case on one occasion, and I had to ask for them to be made ready, resulting in a wait of half an hour. I don't expect slip ups like this in a hotel for the price I was paying. The bar is very limited in what it offered, and for a hotel of this standard the wine list was sparse. Overall, though this is a good place to stay, I felt it was overpriced for what was on offer, and lacked the intimacy and relaxing atmosphere I was seeking. It was all a bit corporate for me.

Wir konnten kein Frühstück nehmen. Total überfühlt. Nach zweimaligem vertrösten haben wir darauf verzichtet. Das Personal trift keine Schuld aber die Platzzahl ist massiv zu klein.
