The staff were amazing, beautiful location and comfy beds

Only one thing, restaurant menu too complicated and pretentious, which was a shame as the room looked lovely. We ate in the bar which was fine

The original part of the hotel where we stayed was gorgeous. You could feel the history and it had, what seemed to be, a lot of the original features still intact. The staff were lovely from the moment we arrived, through to checkout. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. We stayed in one of the feature rooms and it was spacious, nicely decorated with lovely views. We enjoyed afternoon tea, evening dinner and breakfast. The food was excellent across all three meals and the atmosphere, ambience etc was just right. Everything was also conveniently close together, so there wasn't the issue of having to walk miles between sections of the hotel. Lastly, the other guests were all really polite/friendly/etc and obviously it attracts a certain clientele which made for a pleasant couple of days.

I'm being picky here but, the spa was fairly small as was the gym. The changing rooms (as a guy) were cramped and often almost stood on top of each other to get changed/unchanged. The room itself had a light that didn't work and the water wasn't replaced - that said we did get a lot of lovely nice touches. And not that it's the hotel's fault per sé but the old hall (which was lovely) really jarred with the modern new conference area and it felt like old and new sort of mashed together. Again, I'm being picky here!
