Royal Hotel

Great location across the street from the train station and walking distance to the Roman Baths. We were happy to be able to arrange an early check-in since we'd come to Bath with a tour that ended there and we needed to drop off our luggage before continuing with Bath's amazing sight-seeing.

It was all good! However, there was some construction work happening in the nearby streets - not the hotel's fault!

Staff were very friendly and always helpful. Location, immediately opposite the train station (but with no accompanying noise) was excellent - also walking distance to central sights. My room was very good, all necessary facilities and more (I love hotels that supply bath robes and slippers). The bed was very comfortable indeed. Food was good, and (for instance) non-dairy milk was immediatley available on request. This is a 'creaky floor' hotel - old, but very well maintained.

Lift to bedrooms wasn't working, but will be fixed soon.

Breakfast was fantastic,an excellent choice on offer .The english breakfast quality produce not the cheaper brands to maxamise profits ,the selection for the continental selection was fresh and agood selection.

Excellent staff ,excellent selection of foods on offer , nothing not to like.

The main reason to book at this hotel is for the location (across the street from the train station). If you have an early morning train, it's very convenient. Also, Tim at the hotel desk is wonderful, very friendly and offers suggestions for restaurants, sights, etc.

Room was tiny, bed was not that comfortable. I have stayed there before, so I knew that going in. Just don't plan on spending much time in the room.
