Fabulous location close to eateries. Short walk to the main street with loads of shops. Room was a great size. Bed was very comfy. On site parking was easy.
There is nothing to not like here

This motel was located in a great spot. It was quiet despite being one block from main area we heard very little noise. The only thing is the address you think it is on the corner but reception is actually located up around the corner on another street name.
We ate at the restaurant and the meal was lovely as well as a good breakfast.

View was ok however location was directly over the car park entry and each time a car came in or out the grates would create a noise.

Room was clean and comfortable. A bit tired and needs updating. The beds were too soft - and there was no option for us to change, at all.
Location is outstanding. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast and dinner in restaurant was excellent
We had a fire alarm at 2am - caused by a fault in the system. After evacuating into a cold street, for several hours, we were allowed back into our rooms. These things happen, occasionally - but no-one from the hotel even attempted to explain what was going on or keep us informed. - due to the fact that there appeared to be only one person on duty. All information came from the fire brigade., No apology for the discomfort from staff, at any time, even checkout. Very disappoiunting to lose two hours in the early morning and then attempt to get on with the holiday!

Breakfast great. All staff very cheerful and helpful. Views amazing. Room facilities and supplies perfect. Most peaceful and restful.
Had to get someone to fix the aircon to blow warm but that was fixed very quickly. We booked dinner our first evening but the booking somehow got lost. Second evening no TV after about 6pm but we had good books to read.

The location of the Hotel was excellent, not far from the water and close to town. There was a bistro on the property with casual meals that were OK except in the night when they were sharing staff with a wedding....service was terrible and so were wait times
It's our second visit there and unfortunately it was very noisey both times. When there are weddings in marques, the loud music is quite loud even in the rooms. This was really the only negative about the stay. We booked the night before we stayed so maybe that's why it was so expensive, if that's their usual price then it is way overpriced.

Apart from the criticisms I have written, I can say, I was very impressed with our accommodation.
It was extremely comfortable, beds in particular and spotlessly clean.
We were upgraded to a studio apartment with a kitchenette, possibly because we were there for 9 days. Everything you needed was provided and things like teas, coffee and milk and washing up liquid and dish cloths were replaced daily if required. The cleaning staff were friendly and accommodated every request. We didn't expect the bedding and towels to be changed on a daily basis, so we just asked for any extras we needed.
One thing that stood out as excellent were the number of power points. Brilliant. Also the underground carparking right next to the elevator. Fabulous.
The hotel was perfectly situated to the main roads, for all your shopping and dining needs and close to the beautiful beach front. Kiama is a stunning coastal town.
I would highly recommend the Sebel Harbourside Kiama.
Starting off with the trivial:
This hotel would have received a 10/10, had we had foxtel, as promised. In fact, the tv service was pretty poor. When queried, we were told there was a problem and it was being fixed. It wasn't.
The night of the Queen's funeral, we lost complete tv coverage all night. I believe this was throughout the hotel. Not good enough for the price of the room
Much more important was when the fire alarm sounded.
I'm disabled and knowing you shouldn't use the elevator during an alarm, my elderly husband had to get me down from the 3rd floor, using the fire escape. This caused such physical pain, I was unable to leave our room for the following 2 days.
After the fire officers gave the all clear, as it was a false alarm, we were able, via the elevator, to return to our room.
It was obvious that the young lady at reception had not been educated on what she should be doing and was pretty shaky. This is not good enough. Under no circumstances am I blaming her.
Many guest never even bothered leaving their rooms. Had there been a real fire, this could have been tragic. The hotel should have a loud speaker throughout the hotel advising guests of what they should or shouldn't be doing. I've been in establishments, where the tv comes on automatically, when something important needed to be imparted and the staff need to be trained in fire procedure and safety.
This is a big hotel. In such an emergency, trying to evacuate everyone could have ended with avoidable deaths.
Please don't think I'm being over dramatic.
I come from a family of fire fighters. Both my father and brother were officers and I had fire safety drummed into me. Throughout my life, I would bare it witness to the distress of my father, who'd come home from a shift, after finding a dead body in a fire.
Worse still, my brother almost died in a fire. The fireman he was attached to, was killed. My parents were away.
