Hotel Portón de la Cabrera

Nice staff. Comfortable bed. Size of room was also nice.

The windows would close properly. Could not lock. Doors of room slam shut so I would wake up startled every time someone entered or left their room. Also one small elevator that could use an upgrade. The water from my shower would pour out to the floor every time I showered, not safe. But what surprised me the most is that I arrived to hotel around 9-9:30pm on a Sunday and after checking in I was taken to my room… and through the corridors and common areas ALL lights were turned off, everything closed. Restaurant, bar, all shut down. Dark, except for a chimney running, and No were to order a drink, something to eat, it was very weird feeling. Also come construction going on in lobby area and outside area… To be fair, they did offer me to order food via his personal food app on his phone. Nothing was a deal breaker but just good to know to set expectations.

Gorgeous hotel, wonderful staff. The breakfast was so delicious and different every morning. Very comfortable bed.

There's no air conditioning, which is fine for most people given Bogotá's climate, but they gave us a fan, and we slept very comfortably.

Amazing shower, bedding and facilities to relax in the room. The entrance and lounge area with the fire was lovely. Hairdryer and soaps for use in the bathroom great. Breakfast was fine.

We were disappointed by the professionalism of the staff. We were called twice by reception to do the check in and had to pay an extra fee that has been able to be avoided everywhere else we have stayed since. The cleaning staff were really loud in the hall and it felt as if they were shouting right outside the door. There was confusion amongst staff about if we had checked out (we hadn’t) and the cleaning staff came into the room without knocking. After sending emails to try to rectify an issue with paying the tax they have not replied. Very unhelpful and not in line with the service we have received in much cheaper places around Colombia.
