The shadow puppet show was fantastic! We enjoyed getting involved and painting our own puppets too. Each and every staff member was incredibly helpful and really friendly, they helped booking taxis, gave advice about food and had lots of knowledge about the area. The location was in walking distance from lots of sights, restaurants and bars - we had a great stay!

Beautiful traditional courtyard and unique cultural experience!
Shichahai Shadow Art Performance Hotel provided us with an unforgettable stay in Beijing. The property features a beautiful traditional design, and the location inside the historic hutongs is perfect for an authentic experience. The complimentary shadow puppet show was absolutely fantastic. Most importantly, the host and staff were incredibly helpful, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

Nice size room although lacking a window, Not a big issue air conditioning worked perfectly. Dining area is beautiful as is the whole common area. Nit far from the trains, Really quite and feels old scholl China. Outstanding value I thought! Would definitely stay again. Staff are really helpful and speak good English. Thanks ♥️

The hotel common areas and dining room were beautifully decorated and appointed, tasteful with beautiful art. Good location close to beautiful lake and park. Staff were friendly and helpful although a bit too solicitous at times. Sad to miss the shadow puppet show!
The room itself was the smallest room we've ever stayed, we could not even walk around the mattress. There was no actual bed, only a mattress on a platform. Barely room to open your suitcase. Room needs a good though cleaning and coat of white paint. Shower door leaked water onto the floor.
