Sam'S VIP Hostel San Gil

I loved the staff, they helped me a lot when i had to go to the hospital. Beyond this we chatted a lot and the shorter girl was VERY cute and friendly and funny. Miss her already haha. I did also have a room to myself and the fact they had a spot in the central square was nice for convenience.

The room became very hot at night and just had one noisy fan so had to choose between being hot or being quiet. In addition while there was a pool, it was very dirty. The toilets and showers were sometimes dirty as well and i saw many roaches in the kitchen at night.

It's a nice hostel, with some great common areas - a balcony and pool overlooking the valley, and a lounge and terrace overlooking the square. Kitchen is equipped, and staff are friendly and helpful with information and activities.

We initially had a private with shared bathroom - it was quite warm even with the fan, curtains didn't block light, and street noise came in early. They did help sort us a new room. Kitchen and shared bathrooms could be cleaned a bit more regularly.

I had a great stay here and would definitely recommend it, especially if you're a digital nomad. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, and there were plenty of quiet areas throughout the hostel where I could work comfortably. The hostel is spread across multiple floors, so it never felt overcrowded. I also appreciated that there are two kitchens and multiple bathrooms, which made everything much more convenient. They seem to do a really good job distributing guests across the dorms, so there were usually fewer people in each room than I expected, making it quieter and more comfortable. The staff were some of the nicest and most helpful I've come across while traveling. They were always happy to answer questions, and I even booked one of my activities through them, which was super easy.
