Navona Open Space Apartments

Location was exceptional for our Rome stay, very close to the Vatican area, and easy walking to some of the major attractions. Bus around the corner gave us access to the remainder of the city. We loved the local vibe, and restaurants pretty much outside our door

Access and communication, we arrived a little early and it took several attempts to get the host to respond even though we had said we would be early. We got our luggage stored and commenced our holiday in Rome. No windows in the Studio, and bathroom was internally located upstairs, a little tricky for a late night rest stop. Entrance to the apartment was over planks of wood due to renovations going on next door we think

Amazing positioning! As you step out of the apartment you are literally on a road that leads to the Vatican City in one direction and the Pantheon the other. And the streets around are lined with beautiful shops and trattorias. The apartment was a lovely mix of traditional Italian and more modern features. Our host met us in person, showed us around and ensured we were happy with the facilities. There were even a selection of cold drinks waiting for us in the fridge- much needed in a heatwave in Rome in August! The air conditioning was a god send and having a washing machine and detergent was very helpful during travelling. Would not hesitate to stay again in the future.

The steps up to the flat are quite narrow and uneven- traditionally Italian! Termini station is a fair distance but this is rewarded by being in a far nicer part of Rome.

The location and ease of checking in are great. It’s beautiful around and the apartment is decent. They left some waters and drinks in the fridge and the AC was delightful in a heat wave.

You can hear everything happening in the apartment, neighbours snoring, people coming in and out, every time someone closes a door the glass rattles. They rang the doorbell 3 times before 8am to pick up the bins. There’s tiny ants everywhere, the kitchen hob, the bathroom and the living space. There was no shower gel and only tiny sachets of shampoo and the towels have seen better days. If you have thick hair, bring your own hair dryer or it will take 2 business days to do it with the one provided. For the price, we could have gone somewhere better

The location is unbeatable. 1 min walk from piazza navona. Surrounded by bars and restaurants, felt incredibly safe for two women walking back at night. Yet not at all noisy inside the apartment (as long as you don’t open the windows - air con and fans mean you don’t need to). Hot and powerful shower was lovely.

The outside space was not somewhere you would want to sit. Sitting next to a generator/ air con unit in a very small vault surrounded by walls. No view. The sheets and towels were beyond old and need replacing. The lid on the kettle kept falling off. The layout of the apartment is odd…. Two sofas divided by a wall for example. Small things but the whole apartment just feels like ‘a bed for the night’ rather than somewhere you want to relax and enjoy. .
