The Sakala Resort Bali All Suites

Amazing staff! Very hospitable, open and genuinly nice. It could be probably partily a result of good management but it is also probably the depp rooted culture of care and respect. And surely the good nature and carater of people we have met at Sakala H. I want to acknowledge in particular Ms. June from Reception and Ms. Gita, Mr. Jaya, Ms. Dwi and Ms. Lisa from La Terrace, and also Mr. Ken from the Reception, as well as a nice, young gentlement from the Indian restorant at the hotel, by the beach (I forgot his name, apologies). Can't thank them enough for the positive admosphere and confortable stay we've had. Our requests have been accomodated promptly and efficiently, with a smile and pleasant dialogue. We also got help via reception to plan trips to two islands off the cost, Eastwards - Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. Taxi trip from hotel to Sanur port is circa 50 mins. Nusa Lembongan really great, better for snorkeling (than Nusa Penida), and fabulous mangrove forest trip. Restos in the hotel are offering diverse and good dishes. Almost every night, the hotel offers a culinary or show theme. We also visited a couple of nearby hotels for dinner. At Bali collection mall we recommend the Burmese Resto. Circa 10 mins by cab to Nusa Dua south area and to the Bali Collection.

The location is not really suited for snorkeling and water sports. There is a small area for swimming in the sea offered by the hotel but it is unpracticable, I think. However, there are plenty of options for renting or for boat trips. The swimming pools could be a bit better maintained, especially the large one.

Rooms where awful. Very dated, not that clean, balcony was unusable. We were on level 5 at the back of the hotel was so far from the reception area. Mark's on walls, furniture, bedding. Could do with some serious updates. Due to the poor standards of the rooms I would rate this a 3 star. (Definitely not a 5 star)
