Gorgeous hotel with art everywhere you look!

This place is an absolute work of art. I loved my stay here so much. The location is walking-distance to everything, and the art is amazing. I was mesmerized by the mosaic around the building, and the pool. I felt like this place was actually underpriced for how amazing it was. (Hotel staff - if you see this - I'd love to purchase some art if possible!)

Mooi hotel

Prachtig hotel om te zien en erg schoon. We hadden een mooie ruime kamer vlakbij het zwembad. De kamer had 2 bedden en een erg goede douche. Het zwembad was erg mooi en lekker koud. De ligging is ook erg goed, we waren met 5 minuten lopen bij het water.

De wifi is erg slecht. Je kan bijna niks helaas, zowel binnen op de kamer als buiten niet. De bedjes bij het zwembad zijn hard en liggen niet fijn. Kussens zijn echt een vereiste en zou het relaxen zoveel comfortabeler maken! Daarnaast is het altijd vervelend om om toiletpapier te moeten vragen. Helaas was dit hier ook het geval, want we hadden bij de schoonmaak niks gekregen. We hadden een taxi gevraagd bij het hotel maar later bleek dat ze ons niet hadden begrepen en stonden we voor niks te wachten. Dit hadden ze wel goed opgelost door snel een taxi voor ons te bellen.

A beautifully decorated hotel, nice pool and great location with just a shortwalk downtown.

The hotel has a beautiful property with a nice pool. The bed was very comfy. The hotel is in a very central location, just a short walk from the piers and boardwalks of San Cristobal. Many restaurants and shops nearby.

The "breakfast buffet" selection was quite minimal. Although we did here there was an egg shortage on the island while we were there. The cost of the hotel was quite a bit higher than the others on the island we had stayed at.

I went with family there and the location was perfect. A 5 min walk to the malecón and close by supermarket and pharmacy

The mosaics were beautiful and the breakfast was delicious

Nothing to dislike. WiFi was a bit weak sometimes but not problematic

you can do much better w a good hostel on the water

common areas very nice

breakfast was horrible kitchenette was a sink and a mini fridge very disappointed could not even boil water or warm things up no way to make coffee.

Great spot to end our galapagos vacation

This was in a good location and the tile art was really unique and charming. Having a pool to cool off in the afternoon was a nice treat. The breakfast was plentiful and was a nice place to start our day. A/C worked well for us. We walked easily to everything in town.

the central pool and breakfast area are absolutely beautiful. the staff are great and accommodated our timing needs and losing our keys(!) very helpfully. Overall we had a fabulous experience at this hotel and we would definitely return

Fantastic location and a beautiful hotel. I’d definitely return and stay here again.

The hotel is so unique with all the beautiful mosaic tiles and artwork. It’s a great location and the owner and staff were so helpful and friendly.

The bed was a bit firm for me, but I mentioned this to the owner so he put a mattress pad on the bed which really helped. I wish the pool had been heated, it was a bit too cold for me to go in.

Cool hotel, but we wish the wifi worked.

The mosaic tiling all over the property is beautiful. We enjoyed all the hang out spaces including the pool and rooftop! The showers were hot with great pressure. AC was strong!

The wifi is awful! I was so shocked because the Booking.com score for wifi is a 10.0. The wifi is inaccessible in the rooms and even in the common spaces it’s spotty and slow. The breakfasts are basic (no eggs).

Perfect for familes.

Staff was fantastic. Location was great, convenient to grocery, restaurants and pier. If I was with a family, this would have been amazing for the kids.

Would have stayed somewhere different if I would have known this was geared towards families. Room on ground flooe was next to the pool. This was ground zero for a kids 3 day rager, apparently.

A fantastic place to stay!

Fantastic room and public spaces with art. The pool was wonderful with lots of table spaces for games. Breakfast included eggs. Very close to everything. Staff was amazing and called for taxis as needed and keeps a close eye on night access.

Hotel Katarma is a living work of art. In every corner you can find a mosaic or painting, all completed by the owner and his son. And, even though you may be there a short time, there is a strong feeling of community and appreciation for the Galapagos.

1st Time in the Galapagos - Stay Here!

The hotel was very cute, lots of art all over the place. Nice pool, close to the heart of the city and just a comfortable place to stay. It was close to the airport, we saw many people walking the 10 or so minutes to the airport in the morning. Close to local beaches, we saw all the animals - seals, iguanas, pelicans - took all the pictures.

The only thing that would have made our stay pleasant would be better wi-fi connection. it didn't work or was too slow to even connect.

Exceptional

This property is probably the cutest I've ever stayed at. I loved the art everywhere! The rooms were very spacious and I have no complaints about my stay. Would definitely stay there again!
