Throughout our stay, we received amazing reception and attention. The attention to detail was impeccable, contributing greatly to our comfort. Moreover, the breakfast offered was truly incredible. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Nothing! Everything was perfect! From the map it looks like it's away from the historic center, but it's actually just 15 minutes walking to the center, which was completely fine by us (we even got spectacular views from the University of Coimbra from our room).

The property was very comfortable, well run and had a lovely view. Beds were very comfortable and the breakfast each day was superb.

To start with the owners were so welcoming, I felt as if I walked into my own home. They were very accommodating and helpful with plans and top tips. The guest house itself was impeccable, everything 10/10, the breakfast was better than any top star hotel I’ve stayed in. I can’t thank the owners enough for making this stay so memorable, i will definitely be back!

We were given a warm welcome by Paula, who provided us with lots of information and recommendations, along with a map. CoimbraAmeias is beautifully and tastefully decorated, with so much attention to detail. We loved our room and all of the common areas. The lovely buffet breakfast, so beautifully laid out, was taken in the garden, with great views across Coimbra. This was a home from home!

Nothing - it was perfect!

Paula and Luiz are great hosts. Paula introduced Coimbra to us like a historian and gave us good tips about where to go and dine. Luiz makes super artistic 5-star breakfasts. Their guest house is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We have enjoyed our stay and definitely will revisit them in the future!

Firstly Paula was such a delight. she did everything to make sure we had an enjoyable stay; from giving us an orientation to Coimbra and Portuguese history over a glass of port, booking a great Fado concert for us, to recommending an excellent family run restaurant. Then there was the superlative breakfast served by Luiz on the sunny verandah overlooking Coimbra, and the accommodation building Paula has so beautifully restored. When Paula’s friend delivered fresh blueberries she brought us a bowl of berries to eat while we read in the sun - she said she wanted us to feel at home but it was better than home! The location was easy to drive to without entering the busier streets of Coimbra but be ready for the steep driveway. it was lovely to be able to leave the car for the duration of our visit and walk 15 minutes to the main square.
