Vagia Beach Apartment is incredibly idyllic in a quiet location with direct views and access to the sea. We had two balconies, two with sea view, one shaded with trees and a sun balcony to enjoy the evening sun. There is a small sandy beach a few meters further, with loungers and a few restaurants and bars. If you walk a few steps further you get to an incredibly beautiful bay with crystal clear water and hardly any public traffic. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and the Greek hospitality is a major priority here. The apartments are part of the Vagia Hotel which is incredibly beautiful with lots of charm and plants. The food in the restaurant is really delicious, everything handmade with the best ingredients. Breakfast also has delicious homemade cakes and pies and homemade bread. During the day you could sit nicely in the garden with snacks and wine. You can easily rent a car which is brought to the hotel and it will be picked up again. You can also order the car service to the port if you want to rent a car the whole time. It is worthwhile to explore the island by car. the gentleman that runs the apartments is very polite and helpful. The apartmets were possibly 30 seconds from a the sandy Vagia beach. Clean and spacius were perfect for a familly or a group of friends! We decided to have breakfast at Vagia Traditional Hotel which was 100m from the apartments.

The sea view was great. Amazing to wake up to the sound of waves every morning. The beach is just a few minutes away and there are good restaurants around. Totally recommend dinner at Vagia Hotel. Loved the breakfast and homemade pies. Will stay again :)

Great location a short walk from the beach, and excellent breakfast if you go for that option. Spacious, quiet twin room with black-out shutters.

The shower didn't attach to the wall, and the taps only had salty water (apparently a problem on the whole island, but we didn't verify this). The place itself is slightly on the shabby side but gave a comfortable night's sleep.

Balcony

I do not recommend anyone to stay in this apartments and in this area. My apartment was very dark, furniture was old, it gave me a feeling that I was staying in camp back to my school days. Beds are uncomfortable, mattress was very thin and you will struggle a lot if you are suffering with back pain and every time you turn the sound of the bed will wake up the entire building. The bathroom was dirty and shower curtain is too short so every time you take shower keep in your mind that the water will be everywhere and no one will come every day to clean this mess. For the 5 days I stayed there no one came to clean at all. Only once the cleaning lady brought clean towels and bedding but she just kept it on the balcony and left. There is no iron too in the entire hotel!! There are lots of insects coming inside the room. I had a cockroach on my bed and lots of big spiders and other bugs in the room I guess they are coming from outside cause the balcony door can’t be closed. The only good thing in the room was the balcony, the view was beautiful. One more thing during the night the dogs are barking a lot. It is noisy there. The area is not even a village. It has only 3 tavernas and food there is not good. Better choose small tourists areas like Agia Marina or Aegina town. There are shops, lots or restaurants and bars and the beach is much better. The beach in Vagia is very dirty, it’s not a sandy beach as well.

If you want a tranquil and chilled out Greek island retreat, look no further. A lovely safe and quiet beach with two tavernas is less than a 5 minute walk from the apartments. The restaurant next door to the apartments is best to avoid. Food at Hotel Vagia is very good and the patio is a beautiful location to relax with a glass of wine. Notis and his team can’t do enough. This is not “party central” and long may it stay that way. Just a beautiful well looked after and run hotel for those who want to get away from it all.

I am not interested in breakfast, so the fuss that was made about it was irrelevant to me. It was overpriced and there were too many cakes. The location of the apartments was good - a short stroll to a nice beach with mostly local families. Luckily we had a rental car so could travel to buy our own food or eat out (the food provided by the hotel was overpriced and not good).

Just about everything in the apartment was shoddy or broken - peeling paint, stiff windows, poor-quality furniture, tiny shower, nails projecting up through the floorboards in one of the sleeping areas (!). The apartment clearly had NOT been cleaned (either professionally or in a rudimentary fashion) before we arrived - it was dirty. The promised WiFi frequently did not work. We were woken up very early nearly every morning by "workmen" moving heavy furniture around in the empty apartment above us - we complained but it kept on happening. It was a nightmare. We were supposed to be given clean towels after three days but they did not appear. The kitchen hardly had any equipment, nor a complete set of dishes/plates/glasses etc. It would not cost the owner much to renovate and equip the apartments to bring them up to standard.
