First class team of staff in all departments. Everyone knew their job and everyone seemed willing and able to do what was required when they saw it needed to be done. Whilst some might feel put-off by the Table d'hote style of evening Meal, please don't be. There is a single three-course menu and an alternative vegetarian menu for dinner every day. You can pick and mix from the two menus as you wish. The menu changed completely each evening of our three night stay and you get to review your evening menu at breakfast so you can make your choices. I will say that the presentation, cooking and flavour of the food was excellent. The same level of deliciousness was carried through to the breakfast offerings the following morning where fresh fruit was elegantly arranged ready for you on your arrival at the table, to be followed by both a comprehensive buffet selection and every form of cooked egg to choose from with the most delicious bacon I've had for ages adding to my daily egg selection. Wine selection was sufficient for most tastes with a sensible range of prices for all to feel happy with, both as a whole bottle or by the glass. The welcome glass of MCC was so good that my wife chose it as an aperitif the following day. Our bedroom was very comfortable, very clean, well maintained and had a substantial bathroom too. The chorus of frogs from one of the nearby ponds just enhanced the night-time slumbers. Arriving to our car each morning to find it had been given a good wash down was just another joy of staying at Laird's Lodge. Our chat with Lesley, one of the owners, at the beginning of our stay provided some excellent alternatives to our intended plans that we were grateful for.

Genuinely can't think of anything at all. Laird's was probably our favourite stay of our 15 day holiday.

This is a fabulous hotel. The breakfasts and dinners were fantastic. Dinner was so nice that we never went anywhere else for dinner. Dibs looked after us really well all through our stay. All the staff were fantastic
