Hôtel Vendôme

The location of the hotel allowed us to walk to many places in "old" Nice. It was also close to some good restaurants. Our room was adequate in size and was well maintained and comfortable. The continental breakfast met our needs. In addition, the staff were very helpful in answering questions we had especially with regard to directions.

Parking at the hotel is very limited but our request for a spot was met.

Das Hotel befindet sich in einem wunderschönen Haus. Innen ist es ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen. Das Frühstück war gut und die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

I stayed for one night at Hotel Vendome and had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. What amazed me first was the size of my single room. It was delightfully spacious for a single room, as was the bathroom. Both were very well organised, beautifully designed and spotlessly clean, as was the entire hotel. There was a large glass bottle of water in my room, which was incredibly convenient and very much appreciated when arriving in a new place. Thank you so much for this thoughtful touch. The location of the hotel is brilliant. It took me about 10–15 minutes to walk to the Old Town and even less time to reach the promenade. The main pedestrian street and the tram to the airport are only about a minute’s walk away. I would like to thank all the staff I met at the hotel for making my only day in Nice so pleasant and comfortable. Everyone was extremely polite, friendly, helpful and welcoming. They prepared my room in advance, which meant that I was able to check in some hours earlier. I really appreciated this and would like to say a special thank you. I had travelled from Menton, and being able to check in early allowed me to freshen up and have more time to enjoy Nice. I would be very happy to stay at Hotel Vendome again. Thank you so much for everything!

The air conditioning was pre-set — the thermostat did nothing beyond on/off. When we said the room was too hot, staff held a hand to the vent and told us it was working. Booking.com asked for photographic proof of the temperature, which isn't something you can photograph. The hotel offered a different room, then noted they were sold out that night. The next day they offered a one-bed room, though they knew there were two of us. Breakfast included rectangular eggs, white with green discoloration, apparently baked. I skipped them. At 15 euros per person, it's only worth it if you want a coffee and a croissant. Overall, the responses felt procedural — enough to satisfy Booking.com's requirements without actually fixing anything. Not somewhere I want to go back to.
