KOKO HOTEL Nagoya Sakae

The breakfast was quite expansive and appealed to my western palate and had interesting Japanese options as well. The apple juice was also absolutely mind-blowingly delicious and is literally, without a hint of irony, the best apple juice I’ve had in my life. As for the rooms, for what I paid for it’s absolutely worth every penny, the beds were quite comfortable, the amenities were great and everything was clean and orderly. Staff was most welcoming and demonstrated great service mindedness. The hotel was highly central and even though I had a “guide” (friend who lives in Japan) I am confident that you would be able to navigate to the hotel and from it in and around the Nagoya area if you’re somewhat competent in Google Maps.

Literally the only minor complaint I would have had would be that I missed some bacon and cheese at the breakfast, but given that I’m halfway across the globe from home this is, taking into account the full picture, a non-issue.

Is in the heart of the city

The hotel is conveniently located right next to Sakaemachi Station and Oasis 21, making it easy to visit several major attractions and travel to other parts of Nagoya. The breakfast was delicious. Although the menu was mostly the same each day, there were enough small variations to keep it interesting. The staff were courteous, friendly, and patient in answering our questions, which we really appreciated. The room was on the small side, but it was functional and had everything I needed. My parents stayed in a room that was about the same size as mine but with a slightly larger bed, and they felt it was a bit cramped—I agree that the room can feel crowded, especially for two people. The bathroom, however, was excellent. It was clean and well designed, with a bathtub, reliable hot water, and a modern toilet with a bidet, which made our stay very comfortable. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone visiting Nagoya, especially if you want to stay in the Sakae area with convenient access to shopping, restaurants, and public transportation.

One minor issue was that I could occasionally hear noise from the room above, but I understand that this is not something the hotel can fully control.
