Comunque piacevole luogo.

the pool was clean and absolutely perfect, it was a small walk to the beach not to mention that the breakfast was exquisite and filling. The staff always greeted us with a smile and we felt welcomed and important. Aluna was the perfect break for us. Thank you
i think the pricing should be in shillings and more affordable. We had to go outside of aluna to get a wider range of food options, and their drinks where priced very highly.

This hotel felt like home.
very clean hotel , value for money.
the service was magnificent , the team makes you feel like home and go above and beyond to make you comfortable. I mean … they even installed a douche shower as one of the rooms didn’t have one and it would make it easier for our stay.
one of the days we had to leave earlier than breakfast time for activities and the team kindly prepared our breakfast before everyone else’s .
special thanks to the girls , Eva , joy and Marian. With the smile on their face they made us feel more comfortable than ever.
thank you to Mody for trying to help us out with a private issue that occurred in Zanzibar .
to be honest nothing

The rooms were excellent, and the pool was lovely as well. You had the beach restaurant, which was a stone's throw away, with all the staff greeting you by name, which made it feel more like home.
nothing that I can recall

We had such a lovely stay in this hotel. The staff are excellent - super helpful whenever you ask for anything - they are really welcoming when you arrive, and I should add that we arrived early and had an 'extra' morning to enjoy the pool, and then we left late, and extra time in the room (as much as they were able to give due to people arriving) and in the pool before we left.
The pool is great - I say 'the pool', but in fact there are two, so while we were there, there was no pressure on pool space or on the use of sunbeds. We used the pool by our room, but both are lovely - the whole area is well spread out, with bungalows near each pool, and beautiful gardens around the pools - the plants have been really thoughtfully planted so that there is a natural look, and the gardens are mature so there is good shade if you want it!
Breakfast was great - Saturdays and Wednesdays are buffet days, which we enjoyed, and the regular menu has lots of choice and is well prepared - also the fruit juice is really good.
Rooms are comfortable, and everything is very clean. I would definitely definitely stay there again.
There's nothing I would change - we chose Aluna Nungwi because of its high rating on TA and It deserves to keep that rating.

Beautiful resort, super staff, room was spacious, modern and immaculate. Having a jacuzzi on the balcony was awesome!
Location is a bit removed from the centre, but you can get a $3 tuktuk there in a few minutes. Would love if the room had full length mirror.

We really enjoyed our stay here, we had the jacuzzi hot tub room for 3 nights and it was brilliant. The hotel paths and around the pools is beautiful with all plants and trees. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed, including drinking water, a kettle and tea, shampoo and conditioner, beach towels, air con, mosquito net etc. The hot tub was so special and we are really pleased we upgraded to this for our honeymoon, it made it extra special. We enjoyed the breakfast and had a nice dinner at the beach one evening - a lot of the menu is fish/seafood. We also ate at a restaurant nearby which we enjoyed plus others in Nungwi. The reception staff were friendly and helped us book a great taxi for a really reasonable price to the airport and also organised the buggy excursion which was super. The tuktuk driver is a legend, he took us back and forth to nungwi lots of times for $3 each day, this service was fantastic and meant we really enjoyed our stay as we had the best of both worlds popping into town whenever we wanted just by messaging him on WhatsApp. On our final morning we walked from Aluna beach into Nungwi at low tide which was nice to do before it got too hot and we left our bags at the hotel which was super handy.

The facilities are amazing! It was a beautiful place to stay.
We asked for a breakfast bag for the morning as we were catching our flight early. This was arranged and all okay, but unfortunately the bags weren’t made for us for when we left!

The location is very nice
We loved the beach bar
The pools were clean
Room was very comfortable
The staff were very accommodating and helpful especially Mohammed (Mudi)
Only the food options and quality can be improved, and the time to prepare the food for dinner was a little too long but other than that everything was perfect

Exceptionally clean rooms
Comfy beds
Quiet
Great breakfast - love the concept and the egg chapati roll was amazing
both pools were great
Cool beach bar serving good food
Tuktuk service to go to centre / down to Kendwa
Away from the busiest areas of Nungwi but still easily walkable along the beach (about 15-20 mins)
Nothing - location might not be perfect for some people (as it is a little out the centre) but this is obvious when booking the hotel so not a criticism. We enjoyed this aspect and the hotel also helps with ordering a tuktuk to take you anywhere you need to go..

Every corner looks beautiful. Lovely and kind staff, always happy to help you with a smile. Loved the room with the outdoor shower and a few steps from the pool.
Also, very quiet place to stay.
Food is great, nevertheless the menu is everyday the same and at same point we got a bit tired of the same offer (we stayed 8 nights). Also we missed more standard options, eg. ham, cheese, fruit instead of fruit salad, cereals, vegetal drink.

amazing place, very clean pools and excellent staff. great location next to beach far enough from the busy hotel area. staff is excellent and delicious food!

Aluna Nungwi was a lovely hotel. It is about a kilometre from the main busy hotels, a quick walk onto the beach and then a 20 min stroll to Nungwi beach. 45min walk from the start of Kendwa beaches. 2 pools which are great to relax by, food and service was great. Really kind and friendly staff. Excellent communication.
The covers on the beach beds need replacing, they are looking a bit tired. Otherwise, no complaints.

Location is fabulous: at the heart of Nungwi, but not in the centre of everything, so you're near the action, but get to go back to a quiet place. Superb service from everyone, starting at check in, to pub/restaurant, to housekeeping: staff were very attentive. Loved the units we stayed in (8 & 9): elevated, quiet, with a large wraparound deck and a hammock tucked away in a quiet corner, nowhere near any of the pools. Felt like a secluded, private floor, perfect for a family of five. Small but comfortable air-conditioned rooms (not always guaranteed in Z'bar), with in-room safes (gave us peace of mind). Everything worked. Complementary breakfast was delicious - at first I was worried because it's a set menu, but I needn't have - there's enough variety & flexibility to tickle any tastebuds. Aluna Nungwi is a split property, with the "hotel" part (lodgings, small pub & b/fast nook, pools & other facilites) in a separate fenced location, and a beautiful beachfront bar & restaurant a stone's throw away (two-minute walk). For us, that was perfect because lodgings were always super chill, and if you wanted a bit of a vibe, you'd just stroll to the bar by the beach. Lovely sun loungers & hanging beds at the bar by the beach. Swimmable at high tide; lovely turquoise waters (if you don't mid the odd seaweed). Food & alcoholic beverages are moderately priced for Nungwi (Malibu double shots at $3, cocktails at $7 if I recall correctly, entrées from $5, main courses for around $13 ). Spent Chrismas Eve there: dinner & entertainment was lovely - though the menu was quite limited. Their food feels fresh & is delicious. I had a superb fish curry, and loved the chef's take on "Daga", and complementary spicy groundnuts. Still, speaking of dinner & entertainment...
...meal options are limited if you're the sort of guest who does lunch & dinner on premises, and want variety. In our 3-night stay, our teens mostly ate the same thing over & over (chicken cutlets - I think they're called something else on the menu - and fries). They absolutely enjoyed it, but I would have loved to see a slightly bigger menu, with more seafood & chicken meal options beyond the typical grill, fry up & curry. One other thing: Thursdays, the beach bar does live music (local band/troupe & DJ). Its vibrant, and a crowd puller, which my partner (and the kids) absolutely loved. But it got to be a bit much for me for two reasons: one, I had to chase off a townie who wanted to light up a blunt right by me and family (marijuana is illegal in Z'bar, though you wouldn't know based on the beach boys trying to sell you Bob Marley cigarettes in Nungwi, though I encountered none at Aluna). Two, we had an episode where a local boy was catcalling our teenagers. It was one person, one incident, on the one night, towards last round after folks had had a bit to drink, but it was deeply unpleasant. So a point off for that. These two incidents aside, this was as close to a perfect stay in Nungwi as I've ever had.

Amazing breakfast (vegan options too!), very cool private beach, extraordinarily friendly and funny staff who helped in every respect
(calling a doctor, changing rooms, etc.) and an overall cool vibe making this a very lively and nice place to spend your vacation.
Barely any water coming out of the shower, dark lighting in the bathroom and, if the hotel is busy it gets a bit tight around the pool and breakfast area..
