Great spacious room, incredible bathroom 2 hand basins, separate toilet and bidet.Very comfortable bed.Lovely lounges downstairs and great pool area too cold to use.Breakfast very good although no card menu all precooked.Good safe storage of ebikes
Main gripe I was woken in the night by sound of dripping water. The roof hatch had water dripping out of it I was too tired to do anything except put towels there. We had just finished a month cycling and had flights back to Australia ahead of us.So sorry when you've lost sleep is not quite enough.

We didn’t use the pool but when it came to the breakfast it was delicious with many things to choose from. When it came to our room was perfect but the AC wasn’t working correctly.
How warm it was in my room and also in the halls of the hotel.

it's lovely. Had parking. Wonderful breakfast. comfortable bed.
We were placed in a street level room which made me uncomfortable so
I asked for a room on an upper floor they were really not willing and eventually gave us a smaller room but charged us more. I was disappointed by that lack of solicitousness.

The location is very good. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure.
We expected better quality for 5 stars hotel. Even breakfast was very poor, scrambled eggs were tasteless. The pool area and pool need good cleaning, outside chairs are so uncomfortable. Many things need to be updated. It is very expensive for what it is.

Staff were amazing, building was amazing, location was amazing. We cant wait to be back, will always be a super special place to us 😀

The food, the staff, the service and location was great
I had to change room after the first night because my one had ants, the second one the shower was slightly clogged and the wc had a lot of humidity degradation on the walls. Also, if you stay in the ground floor it’s basically as if you were in a bunker, very limited natural light.

Beautifully restored building. Very quiet and peaceful hotel, with super comfortable room/bed and modern, clean bathroom. Easy to get in and out of downtown Lisbon by many methods and an easy stroll down to the river and a number of monuments, or into Belem with museums etc. Staff super helpful.
No complaints at all.

The hotel is very pompous and the staff is extremely nice and polite. Definitely a 5 star experience from the staff.
Pool and spa area closed too early. Could barely enjoy the facilities after working hours. Also lunch took some time to be served when there was no one else at the restaurant.

Facilities and the area are great.
Some things were broken (light switch, hand mirror) and the WiFi still not good (we've been a few times last year).

at the reception the worker didn’t speak any Portuguese whatsoever, and even in English he was truly struggling.
the room was absolutely dirty as you can see in the pictures here attached.
also in the toilet the ceiling was full of mud and water infiltrations.
it is also unacceptable that in a 5 star hotel the bath towels are completely broken.
there was no conditioner for the hair and the breakfast was as poor as it could be, besides the clear lack of quality of the products served.

Very little!
In front of Torre de Belem, with river views ( hardly)
The pool area & spa very good.
Decor ( altho tired!)
Good-ish breakfast ( at least get FRESH OJ for a 5* hotel) 🙄
DO NOT STAY HERE! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME or MONEY! THIS IS NOT A 5* HOTEL!!! ( This is a NAU Group hotel & the 2nd of theirs I hv had issues with! )
Situated on railway tracks that run ALL NIGHT LONG! Then garbage collection occurs at 6am!
SOOOOO many problems; our booking could not be found initially, staff incompetence, night reception staffer DID NOT EVEN SPEAK Portuguese 😳
NO room found that did not have issues ( rooms facing onto reception area via windows - most bizarre … not even dbl-glazed! no privacy, thus noise, felt exposed)
Finally when we did not complained but rather mentioned ( to avoid these further issues with other guests!) to the Reception Manager Joao … he gv us chocolates from the turn-down service as compensation 🫣😱🤣 ( beyond embarrassing !!!)
so very unprofessional!

Breakfast could have been better presented and cared for to look fresh all the time. Staying there for 12 nights after the 3rd day it was rather boring eating the same food every day. The hot breakfast buffet did not reflect the quality and standards of the hotel, it looked massed produced and put in iron cast pots without care. The bacon was partly burned and undercooked at the same time, swimming in oil.
I didn't like the limited lunch and dinner menu choices. When we arrived we went downstairs for lunch to be asked if we had a reservation and that we need to reserve for lunch and dinner. We kept on getting contradicting information from various hotel personnel and it felt that there was lack of communication between the departments.
One night we decided to order room service only to be told they did not have on the menu what we were ordering, when the menu was given to us by the reception, so they sent an employee to our room to show them what we were referring to. We were informed that the menu was discontinued but they could prepare our order.
Housekeeping was very inconsistent. There was always something missing. The hotel sent a bottle of champagne to our room for new yer's eve but the housekeeping took it away the following day and forgot the rather well used duster clothes in our bathroom.
The Sauna and Turkish Hamam were taking it in turns to break down, we never had both of them working for more than a couple of days.
When we checked in, telephone and TV did not work in our room so they moved us to a similar standard room which they informed us was the only one available to match the room we booked.

Friendly staff, location, amenities, free parking.
Room location in a busy and noisy area.

great service, very nice room, nice breakfast. Overall very happy!
not much to dislike. Maybe the location is a bit far away from the downtown area.

What we love about Portugal, and Europe generally, is the blending of old and new. Palacio do Governador does this beautifully. The building threshold tells you something about the Roman ruin, and the lobby says something about the Governor's residence. The old building affords high ceilings upon which the room design capitalizes. The spa pool and stations (special showers, Turkish steam bath, sauna) occupy an interesting part of the original building, and it'll be fun for you to work out the geometry. The outdoor pool is also very pretty and you can enjoy your breakfast alongside it. We had already stayed right in the heart of Lisbon, so this stay at Belem was a great counterbalance and we took advantage by visiting points west. Also, the neighbourhood to the north is very interesting architecturally and we look forward to just walking through more of it in future. Staff was excellent and helpful. And to boot: the value was excellent.
The TV in our room sometimes froze and required a reboot. Also, the A/C didn't quite keep up, at least by my wasteful North American expectations, so that's really on me.

spa staff very polite and professional.
dirty skirting boards, headboard and hairs in bathroom. see separate email
