Palazzo Insula

Perfect in every way! The grand rooms, staff, location, breakfast... all perfect.

We loved it! Awesome staying in a palace! Amazing!

Everything was perfect!

Great, central location in the heart of Gallipoli; a nice, very large terrace accessible from the room; unique, interesting and nicely appointed/decorated common areas...a beautiful 'old world' feel to the property; an excellent continental breakfast; air conditioning in room work perfectly (a must in late August); and very pleasant and accommodating staff.

The palazzo is tucked away in a courtyard where there are other businesses and the entrance is on a higher floor making it difficult to find, and a challenge climbing the stairs with heavy luggage. Cars cannot enter the area where the hotel is located....anticipate a walk of roughly two blocks after being dropped off on a main road. The spacious common areas, such as the dining rooms are not air conditioned. My room and the bathroom were on the small side (cubicle shower), and somewhat dark (very high ceilings, but windows/shutters at the top opened by pulleys. Had the temperatures been cooler, access to the terrace would have made them brighter. Given the scorching August heat it was difficult to enjoy the terrace and the common areas (no fault of the hotel)

It was a beautiful old property. Right in the middle of all the action. Host was very accommodating and friendly .

The shower was tiny.
