Hvammsvík Nature Resort

Siamo stati in questa struttura per due notti. Non ce la siamo goduta al 100% perché il nostro itinerario era molto ricco, ma ciò non toglie che ci sia piaciuta moltissimo. Abbiamo dormito in uno dei lodge con vista sul fiordo. Il tramonto è davvero splendido! Nel mini appartamento trovate tutto il necessario per cucinare, asciugamani puliti e anche degli accappatoi. Organizzandoci diversamente, in futuro non ci dispiacerebbe tornare.

Ci sono state piccole pecche che hanno reso il soggiorno un poco deludente a fronte del prezzo pagato. Innanzitutto l’annuncio parla di una piscina calda privata, ma non accenna al fatto che la piscina è distante dalla camera ed è per tutti gli ospiti dei lodges (questo l’abbiamo capito solo guardando il tablet in camera), quindi il risultato è che al secondo giorno abbiamo fatto le corse per poterne usufruire, ma era già occupata da altre persone. Ci sono rimasta molto male perché avevamo rinunciato a vedere alcune cose pur di riposarci un po’ nella piscina, e non ci andava di andare a quelle “pubbliche” dopo che avevamo pagato di più per qualcosa di “privato”. In più non è stato fatto il riordino della camera (il letto era ancora disfatto), cosa che ci è sembrata un po’ assurda visto il livello della struttura. Infine il secondo giorno, di mattina, avevo segnalato un problema con la serratura del lodge, e mi era stato detto che avrebbero controllato, ma quando siamo tornati non era cambiato nulla. In sostanza sono arrivati verso le 20.00, quando noi eravamo tornati già da tempo. Anche questo ci è sembrato un po’ strano. In ogni caso per fortuna era solo un meccanismo di chiusura diverso e sono stati gentili a spiegarcelo (nel resto d’Europa non l’avevamo mai visto). Consiglio quindi di rivedere la comunicazione e i servizi.

Would be nice if management was more visible, but I understand it’s remote.

We traveled to this estate with the family, two small kids, + me and my wife and we stayed there for three nights. This was part of a 13 day trip around Iceland. The location of the estate is absolutely beautiful. The house was clean when we entered and all the equipment was in good working order. They had coffee, tea available so we did not have to go by basic necessities and also provided some detergent as well as washing fluids and soaps and shampoos.

our biggest issue with the property was that the geothermal pools shown in the picture were actually not included with the property. one of the main reasons we booked this property was because we wanted to get away from the crowded geothermal pools to have something that the family could enjoy more privately. But once we arrived, first of all, it was very hard to find the geothermal tools on the property. Then when we found it after driving around on difficult potholed roads, it was completely cold and non-functional and we ended up leaving without using the pool. When we called the property and asked them to investigate, they told us they will get back to us but never did. The pool that is shown in the picture, we enquired where it was and then they told us that it is no longer included in the property and you have to pay ~$50 per adult in order to access this. that is basically misrepresentation of what is included in the property. Some of the supplies were very stingy. They did not even have enough plastic bags to put trash away. They had two plastic bags into trash cans and when we asked for more, they never responded; so we ended up finding bags throughout the house or going out ourselves to get some in order to throw the trash away for the three nights we were there. In the end, we don't think this property is worth what they are charging for it. Primarily because of the geothermal pools, at least in our opinion. We would not stay there again even if we were to go back to Iceland. Too overpriced and not enough value for the money
