Leonardo Hotel Brighton

Easy check in and good location close to the station. Our room was upgraded, which we were grateful for but I'm not sure how different it was to a standard room. The shower in the bathroom was very good. Staff were helpful.

The bathrooms are quite outdated although the shower was still excellent. The rooms needs some TLC , for example a nasty brown statin under the desk in room 521, different colour bulbs in the bedside lamps make the light odd and mismatched and the bedside lamp hardware which is easily seen, need a good dust. Beds were comfortable.

Great location right next to the train station and 5 minutes walk to the North Laines. The staff were very friendly. The shower was excellent.

The cleanliness of the room - there were layers of dust on lampfittings etc, and dirt splatters on lampshades and walls. For 4 stars I would have expected better. Also, no water was supplied in the room. Although the reception area has obviously had a recent revamp and looks really cool, the room seemed a little tired and in need of better attention.

Very pleasant staff at the check in. The room was large and had a decent sized bathroom. Great location for the train station and the communal areas at reception/restaurant were pleasant.

It could be that I was unlucky with my room (I was there for four nights): The bath, the carpets and curtains (and even the net curtains) all had multiple suspicious stains on them, which was pretty gross. The headboard of the bed was some sort of fake leather and had loads of scratchmarks in it. Additionally there was a very loud constant humming noise from the bathroom which made it difficult to sleep (even with the door firmly shut). The food in the restaurant (dont ask, but we ate 3 meals there) was pretty poor and when one main course remained untouched apart from a single bite, no one was interested as to why. Finally they are losing extra points for my pet peeve of having hangers attached to the wardrobe! Probably fine for a single night.
