M's Hotel Sanjo Omiya

Location first, close to a closed market, and to the bus lines and metro station. Walking distance from the palaces. Really convenient. Amenities, like there is a microwave in the shared area, luggage storage with self service locks and 24h reception. The bedroom was walkable inside, which is a bit more than most of the 10m2 rooms in the area. And it works with codes so you don't need to worry about loosing keys.

Wifi is practically not working, good think we had purchased enough MB in our chips because we could not count on the hotel wifi.

Great location for exploration on foot, like nishiki market, Niko castle, and more. Friendly and helpful staff available 24h. Small rooms but smart layout.

The room doors are not quite sound proof and even have a small gap in the bottom. So at night you see the light from the hallway and hear it clearly if someone talked in the hallway or even just went by.

Very clean room, very smooth check in with no people.

The laundry only takes 100yen coins

We stayed in December, and although the room itself was quiet, there was a major issue: cold air kept coming in through the window, and we were cold throughout the night, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. The coin-laundry service was another big problem. The washing machine kept showing errors and the staff didn’t know how to fix it. The dryer didn’t work properly either — even after several cycles, the clothes stayed damp and still smelled like sweat, so the wash was basically useless. The receptionist’s English was very poor, which made it difficult to solve these issues. And while the room was quiet, the type of tourists staying at the hotel tends to be quite noisy, especially in common areas. Overall, the hotel needs to improve basic maintenance and services. I wouldn’t stay here again.
