The Hotel El Prado was the first truly modern hotel to be built in Barranquilla and dates to the 1930s. It is an historic property, which is part of its charm and elegance, so it has wonderful style and character. Bear in mind that the amenities and ambience date to this time period of classic hotels. The property is also place to hold weddings, parties and events so most weekends there will be music. The pool is also great as it is a half sized olympic pool (25 meters). Breakfast buffet is delicious
The property could use some newer chairs and tables in the breakfast area to go with the beautiful architecture, though it is understandable they've kept some of the vintage look.

Traditional and vintage property, well located in the middle of a both residential and commercial area, lots of space and gardens grounds, beautiful and tasty breakfast in a nice historic environment, courteous and friendly staff
Reception/registration desk is too far away from the main entrance

Beautiful colonial setting, large pool, very nice area of Barranquilla, many high end restaurants nearby, staff was very nice
Pool was very dirty. AC in the room struggled to cool the room
