El Nido Jungle Lodge

It is a great place to stay in the Southern Caribbean area, close to the beaches of Puerto Viejo, Punta Uva, and Manzanillo. The bungalows are spectacular—modern yet with a natural touch that creates a sense of being close to nature. The pool is very comfortable, and the hotel's Italian restaurant is excellent for breakfast and any other meal. The staff was very friendly and provided everything needed for an excellent vacation.

Although the beach is nearby, you have to walk about 5–10 minutes to reach it. It is a public natural trail, so it is affected by weather conditions such as rain and mud. But as we say, that is part of the experience.

My boyfriend and I stayed at El Nido Jungle Lodge for 6 nights, and the entire experience was absolute magic! Being so immersed in the Caribbean wilderness while feeling completely safe and comfortable was the perfect balance. The bungalow was super private, quiet, and surrounded only by the relaxing sounds of nature, including waking up to howler monkeys right in the trees around our room! The beach was only a few minutes walk, and we spotted sloth and monkeys on the way there 😍 The bed was a solid 10/10, and having great air conditioning was a lifesaver for cooling down from the humidity and getting a great night’s sleep. The food was another huge highlight: Breakfast (10/10): We ordered the local pinto / Tico breakfast almost every single day (I miss it already!). Between the fresh coffee, fruit juice, and delicious food, every morning felt healthy and energising. Dinner: Their on-site Italian restaurant is fantastic. The owner made us incredible pizzas himself—that dough is unforgettable! 🙌🏽 Beyond the gorgeous setting and food, the hospitality was unmatched. The owners and staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. They helped arrange most of our tours and even opened breakfast early for us on two mornings we had an early start, which we appreciated so much. Thank you to the whole team for a wonderful stay.
