Domaine De Moresville

The location is beautiful, a chateau in the midle of nowhere! The guest rooms are in the auxiliary building. The bed was great, the night very quiet. The shower in the spacious bathroom accomodated my 1.89m height with ease. The breakfast was good. Parking space is plentiful.

The place appears to be designed for weddings, seminars and such. It feels a little institutional, with little flaws here and there, like a non-working light, a carpet that interfered with the door to my room, knives at breakfast that are as blunt as a 5-cent coin. For dinner, one needs to drive a few minutes to one of the nearby villages.

The site was beautiful and the facilities good, but half of the chateau appeared to be shut off when we stayed at the end of September. We stayed in one of the side buildings that came be seen in the photo of the site. It seems to be generally more of a venue for events and the spa, and as we probably stayed at the end of the holiday season it was empty apart from two other couples. If you wanted a private quiet time in a romantic setting then this would be great for that purpose, but don't expect hotel service as the receptionist is the only person on site. The pool and jacuzzi were both good, the garden and terrace are at the rear but the terrace couldn't be accessed through the chateau. If you wanted to have a drink on the terrace then it had to be ordered at the reception as the bar wasn't in use - be sure to check that the glasses are clean if you order a drink from reception! There is no food on site other than breakfast and this had to be ordered at reception when booking in, we didn't try it .- there is a list available at reception for local restaurants. A kettle for your room can be provided if asked for at reception, there was no milk available but there were teabags if asked for.
