Barbican House

It was close to the centre of York. We were in walking distance.

Location. Communication with host. Tea & biscuits provided, comfortable bed and pillows .

The room was very hot - opening the windows let the street noise in.

Durga and Bimala were fantastic hosts and provided us with an extremely comfortable stay while we were in York. The location couldn't have been better as it was directly opposite the city walls! We were provided with a place to park our car, as well, which we were extremely grateful for. Our room was perfect; the bed was large and soft, there was plenty of room to put our luggage and bags, and they had provided us with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits. The breakfast was excellent, as well! There was a lot to choose from, the fruit was extremely fresh and everything was cooked perfectly. Durga gave us such a warm welcome and took the time to chat and share stories with us. He shared tips about making our way through the city, and kindly gave us a map with points of interest circled and a recommended route to take. We really felt like we were valued and that our comfort and enjoyment during our stay was important, which really meant a lot to us!

Clean and well kept property and friendly and welcoming host.

Shower pressure was poor. Price was very high and didn’t include breakfast. Television didn’t pick up any reception.
