Galtres Lodge Hotel & Forest Restaurant

The location was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful and just so lovely. The food was excellent and we had an evening meal and breakfast . The selection at breakfast was exceptional and the service from the staff was amazing.. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our roo was very comfortable and was cleaned every day unlike the big hotel chains. I think it could do with a little bit of paint just to freshen it up.

Really nice boutique hotel, in a great location with a really good breakfast

I have no complaints

Central York location, close to shops, restaurants and around the corner from the beautiful York Minster. Comfortable rooms in a cosy hotel with it's own restaurant and bar. Very friendly staff - we will stay here again next time we visit York.

Nothing

The food was exceptional, we had breakfast every morning which was really delicious, and had dinner here on our first night which again was really good. The manager he was great, very helpful and friendly. Location was fantastic right in the centre and near Yorkminster.

Unfortunately the rooms were not great, my shower I couldn't use as it went all over the bathroom. (room 8) I had to use my friends shower. The cleaning of the room was basic, used glasses/cups were not removed or cleaned, a wet towel left in the shower was left there, the bed wasn't remade which I would expect when staying in a hotel. No mirrors, only one in the bathroom, the TV didn't work, was on Classic FM all the time (which was lovely) but not what I wanted. Also when we checked in we had booked two rooms but they were either end of the hotel, again just not ideal.
