Holiday Inn York by IHG

Friendly reception staff . Nothing was to much trouble when I requested extra items for our room Fakura the Gentleman on reception the day we arrived Sat 3rd Oct went above and beyond to make our anniversary weekend special. Spotless everywhere throughout the hotel . The bar area especially has a trendy vibe . City centre is a 25 minute walk away or there’s a bus stop across from the hotel. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of fresh food. Would highly recommend . Free parking is a big bonus for York hotels

Nothing to dislike here

Good, free parking. Nice breakfast and dining room.

The shower is very nice, however, the room is very small, hard to get in the toilet. Needs an extra 2 feet. Looking a bit tired overall in the corridors. Light came in through the frame of the main door. No power socket on one of the beds. And entry light can only be switched off at the entrance.

The food was excellent and the choice of evening meals was better than expected from a hotel

The size of the bathroom and the bath was a bit smaller than was comfortable

Did not take the breakfast. Location was a little out of town.

Quite a long walk into town but ok if you took the bus.
