Amazing building....great history...good location...very good staff and meals
Attic room with bath, but no shower.
Many stairs, but staff helped with cases..perhaps worth a mention in booking, or option offered.

The room was a small double and was perfectly adequate as we just slept there, The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. The Sunday roast was delicious and all of the staff were kind and courteous. We asked for specific table for breakfast and it was sorted with ease. We had a really lovely relaxing stay.
We managed to park in the car park as we got there early but parking is limited, there is a car park a short walk away which is cheap to park for 24 hours and bags can be dropped off. Parking in Rye is notoriously difficult so that there is a car park in the hotel at all is a bonus.

Room lovely, shower could do with updating/improving
Breakfast was lovely
Character of the place is stunning
I liked it all, but those with less mobility and unsure of their footing / eyesight would need to watch out for unever steps and sloping steps, some with different size drops at the top of the stairs. May be more accessible rooms available but some steps could not easily be avoided

We had an amazing stay. Booked for my husband's birthday and we felt very special from arrival to departure. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and breakfast, the food was delicious. Great location, friendly staff, rich history, cozy rooms.
