We enjoyed our breakfast

Hosts were very flexible for check-in. Our car hire was late from Oslo which had a knock-on effect on our drive to Skahjem Gard. We phoned the hosts and informed them and they satyed up to check us in late at around 10 pm. Location is nothing short of spectacular!! Highly recommended.

Guests should bring own shampoo/shower gels. However, there are options to purchase this from the reception which is not a bad thing. We were prepared with this so all good for us.

Compact studio apartment with everything we needed for cooking simple meals. We were able to purchase some breakfast supplies, including local foods, on arrival with a discount applied by hosts. Helpful information on local activities and also traffic information when we got stuck on the wrong side of a tunnel due to an accident.

Two single beds pushed together instead of a double bed. Might have been nice to have a comfy sitting area / sofa.

This place is a gem. It was one of the cheapest we stayed in Norway and yet one of the best. We stayed in the small studio and everything was great. Simple but very functional and very comfortable. There is everything to cook a homemade meal, the cooking stove was very fast which we were very happy and surprised about, there was plenty of hot water, the beds were super comfortable and there was even an alcove that could easily fit a third adult or children. Inge, the host, was soooo nice and gave us so many helpul tips for the area - really appreciated. He was also super accommodating - we needed ice for our wine and he brought us some. We had dinner in the garden overlooking the mountains, it was lovely. I read some comments that complained about the noise - for us it was not a problem at all. The small studio does not have direct neighbors next door or above so super silent (and anyway we use earplugs so we don't really care). All in all it was a fantastic and homey stay and we would come back in a heartbeat if ever in the region again. Tusen takk Inge, det var hyggelig og vi kommer gjerne tilbake!
