The Morritt Hotel

The ground floor areas are really pleasantly laid out and decorated. The staff we met were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast cooked to order and good choice.

The reception area is very small and for us doesn't do the hotel justice, more like a B&B. Im not a believer in loud background music, but some is required to here to lift the atmosphere.The room was very tired with a damaged bedside table, bathroom was missing a one of towel hooks on the door. Some general maintenance was required to decor. No breakfast tea, and no extra toilet roll. The hospitality industry is really a hard business currently and heard that the hotel was up for sale, which is really sad. Here's hoping it doesn't close it's doors for good. I saying that the above wouldn't stop us from visiting again.

We had a fantastic five-night stay at The Morritt Hotel, from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. The staff were exceptional - friendly, helpful and genuinely lovely throughout our stay. It was especially wonderful that our Great Dane was welcomed so warmly. Travelling with a large dog isn’t always easy, but the team made us feel completely at home, and our dog was treated like one of the family. It made such a difference to be able to relax and enjoy our stay together. Breakfast was very good, with a great choice of options, and there was something to suit everyone. We also appreciated that the heating was on when needed, making the room comfortable and cosy throughout our stay. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was warm, relaxed and inviting, and the staff really made our stay special. Five nights seemed to fly by, and we were genuinely sad to leave. We would absolutely stay at The Morritt again and would highly recommend it, especially to anyone looking for a friendly, welcoming and genuinely dog-friendly hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a lovely location for walking and exploring the surrounding countryside, with beautifully kept gardens. The rooms were warm and comfortable, breakfast had a good choice, and we really enjoyed the food. Dickens Bar is also a lovely spot to relax after a day out.
