The hotel was in an ideal location for an event we were attending. We booked on a room only basis and this was clean, comfortable and with all facilities you would expect in a hotel . The staff were friendly and helpful.
We were disappointed with an evening meal we had booked in for. The restaurant was busy and we weren't in a hurry but part of one of our meals was delivered on its own and we were then advised the other meal would be 20 minutes.
Perhaps our choices just didn't provide what we anticipated.

It was really good value. Great position. Friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable with a lot of history.
Car park was full so we had to park in road. Not a big problem though because it was free.

Friendly staff, spacious bar and dining area, library/board games room. Food quality. Lots of history and close to shops.
Breakfast was not included but we paid in advance. What we were paying for (at guest price not walk-in) was not explained very well and it didnt really end up any significant value. Other guests were very noisy during the night and we had issues with the door key / locking mechanism which again, was not explained at reception. Car park very small and we were lucky a space became available at the 2nd attempt.
