The Carpenters Arms

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was good. The facilities in the room were good and there was ample parking. The bed was comfortable. The food was good.

The room was not clean. The build-up of dust and dirt along the skirting boards, lampshades and upper surfaces was not acceptable. The room needed a deep clean. We didn't like that dogs were allowed in all areas of the restaurant, so there nowhere we could go to get away from them. There was no cloth to hold the bread, so the bread would have been handled by all guests.

We stayed at the Carpenters Arms for a race at Hever Castle and really enjoyed it. The room was clean und quiet, the pub and garden very cozy. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Would really recommend!

Unfortunately, one night there was an issue with the water supply, which was not the hotel‘s fault. Even in this situation, the staff was super helpful and upfront, which saved the day.

Lovely old building in peaceful, country location, but Tonbridge and lots of amenities and facilities nearby. Outdoor seating area fab, and restaurant and bar areas excellent with lots of quality features. Great wine list and delicious food. Room perfect, clean and comfy with lots of thoughtful touches, including fresh milk in little glass bottles. Good quality tea and coffee. Lovely Bramley products in large shower room. Staff were brilliant, thank to you all for being so helpful, friendly and nothing too much trouble, including storing race bikes (clean) in room overnight. Highly recommend.

Dinner & Breakfast

Water was not hot Sat night & pub wanted to shut the bar at 10.35pm - there was only 1 other couple so they wanted to close bar - fully understand but we were staying the night and would have been quite happy to have a few more drinks & relax as neither us were driving so it would have been nice to enjoyed sitting in the bar to relax for longer. Water pipes / plumbing kept us awake most of the night & could hear a radio on downstairs as we had the windows open as it was August. Radio was on again from 08.00hrs Sunday morning ( we wanted a lay in)
