Il Ghiro Guest House

The location is great, the room was big and spotlessly clean, there is a shared kitchen and the hosts are really friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately our room was at the front above the main street so it was very noisy throughout the night and again very early in the morning when restaurants were taking deliveries. Those rooms would really benefit from double glazing!

The shared bathroom was amazingly clean and the room was cozy. The staff was so kind and awesome and also the location is THE BEST.

The windows aren’t well isolated so the room heats up quick.

Holiday vacation. Multiple days during a very hot summer, average 35º maximum temperatures the whole stay. The room had good AC and also had a ceiling fan, which were a blessing to properly rest during the night and morning, otherwise with night temperature around 28º would have been impossible to get proper sleep. The host was super friendly and the guest house functions as a Hostel; there is no common living room to chill but the common areas were always super quiet and clean. Would definitely stay there again, great location and great value for money.

Location close to the station, AC in the room, use of the laundry, they have a key system to where on the last day you can leave your luggage and then you have a set of keys to get into the main area to pick up your luggage anytime. Room was clean.

The property is technically 3 floors up but it’s like really 6 1/2 floors. So just keep that in mind if you have a lot of luggage. I had a small carry on but even that was a mission and the host helped me with it going up. Every night after coming up, you walk all those steps which I did not look forward to. I stayed somewhere else where it was 3 floors total. Not 6 half floors. Just something to be aware of as I went in with a different idea of how much climbing i was prepared to do. There is only 1 bathroom so just be aware of that if it happens to be busy, might be a little bit inconvenient. Luckily I was a solo traveler with weird hours so I slept in a day and left really early another and I also got home late another so I was using it mostly off peak times but I can see how it might not work out so well for others. There is only 1 outlet I could find in the room and it was by the door which was weird. Luckily I carry 1 -6ft cord so I was able to use my phone while charging but I didn’t have another one so I had to swap out devices every day and rotate to be able to charge it to where it didn’t pull the plus from the outlet due to how short my other cables were. Inconvenient. Check in took a while and it was a lot of rules and instructions. A little overwhelming for me as I didn’t want to forget/do anything wrong/against the rules. Maybe just write it down and post it in the room or around the location the rule applies to. I stayed at another similar type of place and check in was quick with little to no rules aside from just check out time reminder. This place had such high reviews so I was a little surprised that IMO it did not necessarily live to that level of review. It was a decent stay for someone on a budget but next time I will be more careful and not be swayed by others opinions (maybe they are outdated) and be more inspecting and asking questions so I am fully aware of the situation I am walking into.
