Hesperia Bilbao

The room cleaning staff were exceptional. They were polite and very helpful. Our room was spotless, but please read below about the condition of the room. The location was very good - walking distance to everything, and the hotel is in a very good area with lots of little bars/restaurants.

The WiFi was terrible. We were on the 6th floor, and it only worked well outside the room by the lifts, but only for a few minutes...not great, as we had a family emergency at home and sadly could not communicate with anyone unless we found a reliable WiFi area outside the hotel. The room we had was also very tired and needed a completely new carpet, as it was full of holes and bare thread areas throughout the entire room. There were lots of rust areas in the bathroom and just very bad touch-up areas, especially in the bath where you had to stand to shower. We had to leave a day early due to a death in the family, which was unexpected, and we would have liked a bit more assistance from the hotel, but that was not forthcoming.

Great location , friendly helpful staff

Outstanding location on the riverfront, with easy walking to all key sites.

The brown bread at breakfast was very good

The lack of space in the room and continual traffic noise
