Cotinga Hotel Spa

The hotel was charming and the grounds were pretty. I was welcomed by the owner who seemed friendly and gave me a tour and rundown of the hotel. The breakfast was really nice and the doorman very kind as well.

The entrance to the hotel was awkward and I felt I had to tell someone every time I was entering or leaving so that the gate would be opened. I chose the hotel for the spa/sauna facilities, but the evening that I went to use it, it was not working. I told the staff who said they would switch it on, but only the steam room came on (not the sauna) and it was not even working properly - it was not very warm and there was not much steam., despite me waiting for some time. Additionally the hot water in the shower in the room was either extremely brief or inconsistent.

Small boutique countryside property. Nothing presumptuous but it meets the basic expectations you want to have in a small property surrounded by nature. Pretty secluded but ideal if you want to disconnect from the world.

Noting really. For the price and the facilities it was what I expected. Basic services, nice staff, attentive Manager Eduardo. Breakfast was great as it was fresh, a la minute with local organic produce. I did enjoy my stay.
