A nice quiet location on the property. Perfect for a couple. No views but those are only a short stroll away

My husband and I stayed here while exploring the northern part of Kauai. The condo is located within a lovely resort. The kitchen was well stocked with quality cookware, and the washer and dryer within the unit were extremely convenient. We would gladly stay here again.

We found the condo to be clean and well furnished. The murphy bed was very comfortable and since it was just the 2 of us, we left it open the entire time and had plenty of space. It was nice to have beach items to use during our stay as well as a washer and dryer. Loved our stay and am considering booking in the future.

Also, on very heavy rainfall days there is a leak in the ceiling, directly above the bed. Overall though, great location and we loved our stay on the North shore. Kitchen supplies and toiletries are supplied which makes this an easy and comfortable stay in a nice resort. Groceries are a short drive and lots of restaurants / food trucks within 10 minute drive so it’s easy to eat out or bring food back to eat on the patio since things close early in Kauai.

My husband and I spent the week of Christmas in this condo. Beautiful studio with fully stoked kitchen with all of the essentials. The resort itself is gorgeous. We had a great time in Princeville, thanks for having us!

Make sure to note this is a studio with a murphy bed that folds down from the small living room wall, and it is not very comfortable. There was a musty smell throughout the rental, and it is right next to other condos where you can hear other people, especially on the porch which is only separated by a perforated screen. The photos are a bit deceiving and they make the place look bigger then it is. There are extra charges for parking ($20/day) and for use of the facility (!!) and towels which we thought was really excessive given the price. This is much more of a resort type experience than your typical vrbo or house rental. The access to Hanalei bay is awesome, and the surf and sunsets were really beautiful.

Overall I enjoyed my stay. The property did switch owners between the time I booked and the time I arrived, however the impact was negligible. Having essentially a full kitchen was a huge plus. The mattress leaves much to be desired - it is hard to imagine two adults sleeping on it due to its smaller size, let alone being comfortable. Even though it is a Murphy bed, I would recommend a new memory foam type mattress - it would go a long way for ROI. I did not use the washer or dryer, however the washer machine had a very musty smell - a common issue for front-loading washing machines that may not get opened very often. And the front door know seems like it is about to fall off. Overall minor things and again I would stay here again if they got a new mattress. I actually loved the view directly from the balcony into the Kauai rainforest - very tranquil and peaceful, especially when it was raining. There are double glass slider doors to the balcony and it was great to open them both up, which really extended the living area and brought the outside in if that makes sense. Also screens of course to keep bugs out if you need to do so. No fault of this unit, however, the resort does not have a full time restaurant - so plan accordingly for breakfast. I recommend getting groceries and coffee for your stay. They have a pseudo-restaurant open from 3pm-9pm I believe, that is in the resort but not part of the resort. They do serve food, however, again, they do not open until 3pm. The overall area is VERY quiet. Your mileage will vary on this one. I mean, really, really quiet. After dark, there is not a whole lot going on - and be careful driving into Hanalei at night if it is your 1st time - the roads are narrow, it is pitch black, and there is one "one-lane" bridge just after a blind corner heading into Hanalei (tons of them after Hanalei). However, the views of the Na Pali ridge, the rainforest, and the surrounding beaches, especially Hanalei Bay are amazing. Queen's bath is also within minutes.

We had a great stay at Hanalei Bay! The owner was very communicative with us leading up to our trip and the staff at Hanalei Bay were friendly and helpful. There is lots to do on the North Shore side of the island and driving to other areas is really easy from the resort. We would definitely recommend staying here!

The place was the perfect place for two! We loved the views and the layout . it was centrally located and the pool was amazing . the walk down to the beach is perfect! We would definitely stat here again

We love the mountain view condos at Hanalei Bay Resort, and 1558 is one of the best. The location is very private and peaceful, with the beautiful mountains and jungle filled with bird songs. Unit 1558 has everything you will need. The kitchen is well equipped; there were even some spices and other supplies left by other vacationers. The couch and dining area are both very comfortable and felt spacious with the Murphy bed closed up. The Murphy bed was surprisingly comfortable; I was worried as I've had them before and had problems sleeping or woken up with sore back or hips. Not the case with this bed. Again, very comfortable. There was a minor mechanical issue but it was easily handled and the manager offered to have someone come out right away and take care of it. The shower is beautifully renovated. There weren't many places to hang bath towels, but we managed. The unit came equipped with beach chairs, a cooler and boogie board, and a few other toys. There was a few roaches that surprised us, but there were roach "traps" under the bathroom sink so we placed them where we saw the pests and never saw them again. All in all, a great unit with good management. Hanalei Bay Resort itself is an absolute gem. We love to stay there, and have stayed in nearly every building in the resort, and this unit ranks among the top contenders!

I loved staying at the Hanalei Bay Resort. The most beautiful view to wake up to. That and all the amenities make this place worth every penny. Clean, well stocked place. Wish I had stayed longer to enjoy it more. Can't wait to come back! Highly Recommend!

My wife and I had a wonderful time in the condo. It was comfortable and it was very easy to communicate with the host. The rooms view is beautiful and the resorts very comfortable. It was the best of Kauai We would love to be back! Keep us posted about your availability and offers

We stayed in this condo for 5 days at the beginning of our trip and it ended up being my favorite place that we stayed on the whole island. The condo is beautifully done and has a phenomenal view. It was very quiet, yet had close access to the parking lot, pool and restaurant. The condo was well equipped with most things that we needed, which was very helpful. There are a few reasons that I did not give this condo five stars. Those are 1) we were not provided any salt and pepper to cook with (but other spices were provided), so we ended up purchasing our own 2) we were only provided one roll of toilet paper for our five day stay 3) condo is pretty much the furthest from the beach and the beach path is long and semi steep (there was a shuttle you could call, but when we did, it never came). Overall this condo was fantastic. I would love to come back for a visit!
