Six minutes to Rupert station

Very conveniently located within minutes' walk of Rupert Skytrain station right at the outskirts of the inner-city fare zone, on quiet side road, with rooftop terrace overlooking the whole city, especially stunning at night! Uber transfer from airport recommended as the walk up from the train station is quite steep and would be a struggle if you have a lot of luggage. We have never had a room with so much option for luggage storage, a wardrobe with clothes hangers, shelves and believe it or not I counted over 30 clothes hooks on the walls and doors! There was also a desk and a mini fridge and coffee maker.

One of the reasons we booked this property was the mention of bicycles. However, when we arrived there were no usable bikes. We therefore had to hire bikes elsewhere, which kindly Amanda let us store inside overnight. We also could not find a hot tub as mentioned in the property description. These two facts should be updated in the property listing by the host!

Das Zimmer war wohl das Beste im Haus mit Sicht Richtungung City. Abends/Nachts ein schöner Anblick.

Man soll ja leise sein im Haus und da wurde jedoch Nachts um 10 Uhr die Waschmaschine/Tumbler gleich im Flur laufen lassen 🙃 nicht so toll!

The hosts were exceptionally eager to help with whatever I needed. They went out of their way to be sure that I had a good experience. Genuinely caring people. The bed was very comfortable.

The room was fairly cramped.

First we’d like to say that the host was incredibly friendly, polite and kind. She welcomed us to the property and showed us around. The location of the property was also great - near the train station (although I’d say 10 minutes walking distance, very hilly neighbourhood), and we lucked out and the cherry blossoms were still in bloom just around the corner.

We were shocked to find out that these units were not ‘private suites,’ but rather just rooms within a large house (thank goodness they do have private bathrooms). We really didn’t love having to take our shoes off outside, with the indication that you leave them in an outdoor shoe cupboard and exchange them for ‘indoor shoes/slippers.’ We did not feel comfortable with this, but wanted to respect the homeowner - it just made for awkward entry/exit of the property. The room itself was not as it was pictured on the ‘book this room’ page. It was very small, with hardly any room to walk around. Thank goodness we were doing a quick last minute trip and had small bags, because I don’t think a proper suitcase would open in there. On our second day, we saw the room that had been advertised - the door was open and the room was being cleaned after someone had checked out. It was disappointing to not receive the room that was advertised to us at the time of booking. Unsure if this is an error from the host, or a booking.com issue??? The room also got incredibly hot on our second night, even with the window open. There didn’t seem to be a fan that we could turn on or use (maybe we missed something?). We were leaving the next morning so we just dealt with it for one night. There were some amenities offered (soaps/shampoos/basics for coffee and a mini fridge which is nice of the host to provide). The shower was awkward to use/turn on, and the glass didn’t move very well to try and turn the shower on without awkwardly reaching around the it. The towels were also incredibly small for an adult to use as a bath towel, and one had some rips/tears. The bed was only a double we think (not a queen as advertised). Bedding was comfortable enough, but the pillows seemed older/work down and we both ended up with sore necks. We booked this place based off of advertised pictures and the reviews, but were very underwhelmed with our stay.
