The Pot Kiln

We stayed here for my Mum's 90th birthday. The staff were incredibly accommodating! We had 4 rooms, all excellent including 2 adjacent to cater for babysitting. Our evening meal was delicious and use of the private dining room made it so much easier for my Mum to hear what was said. Service was very prompt. Breakfast was also excellent and service impeccable. I would highly recommend staying at the Pot Kiln. It is in the countryside and has pretty gardens and surroundings. We subsequently visited Buckleberry farm park which was 8 minutes drive away.

Faucets leaking all night struggled to sleep at some points

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower was exceptionally powerful! We were given a warm welcome. The location is very quiet and picturesque. There are good footpaths from the door.

The evening menu wasn't to our taste - heavy on beef dishes and very little else - no light options, only one potato-based vegetarian dish, and all the sides were roasted in fat or coated with butter. No healthy options. We had planned to eat for both nights of our stay, but went elsewhere for the second night. Breakfast was hit and miss - first morning I had a cold sausage, and we had to chase for some toast. Second morning was better, and we were able to get an alternative to sourdough bread. The worst thing was the bedroom = dark and with no ventilation. We had a superior room off the car park, with only a patio door so in order to get fresh air we would have needed to have the door open all night - this felt very uncomfortable and vulnerable, and privacy was limited.
