Liz is a great welcoming host, the location is just perfect if you want to unwind from the world and relax in nature. Take a swim in the cold lake on a sunny day, it’s worth it!
It was all good, there are sandflies but they can supply you with natural repellent

10/10 for location (especially if you’re going the Doubtful Sound tour). Facilities are basic but clean. Staff were fantastic.
A few more fly screens on the windows would have been great (couldn’t really open any windows as they’d just pour into the house). Water pressure in the shower was also pretty average and wifi coverage was very patchy.

Location fab. Right next to the lake for a swim and a short walk to doubtful sound cruises. Comfortable bunk beds in dorm rooms.
Kitchen was tiny. All communal areas (toilets/ showers/ kitchen/ lounge) are all too small for the vast number of people staying there. There are various rooms but they also allow so many camper and onsite and there is just not enough cooking space/ communal space for everyone to use.
