Pousada de Viana do Castelo - Historic Hotel

Unique setting with incredible views! Very special place.

I will start with the service at the front desk. Wow! this is what hospitality should look like at every hotel. The front desk manager helped solving some problems upon arrival, since we were traveling by bike on the Camino de Santiago. He made sure that the bikes could charge overnight and they even moved them to the storage area themselves, while we were changing clothes in our room. Provided water for our flasks the next day. All of this, while being friendly, calm and helpful. He arranged a taxi for us to get to/from the village downhill (the road is a steep 5 kilometer stretch). Congratulations! We will never forget this level of service. Breakfast the next day was wonderful at the main restaurant, which also enjoys breathtaking views. the buffet had a wide array of local and world delicacies. Don’t overthink staying at this property. It is well worth it.

Beautiful place among the mountains, beautiful scape from the city and being treated as kings by very professional staff.

We found ourselves on top of the world. A wonderful building with a fantastic view, the Atlantic on one side and the mountains on the other, and the Lima river emptying itself in the ocean.
