Only stayed one night, 2 double bed room. Friendly staff, easy check in/out. I don’t feel the room was worth the rate- small tv that had a terrible picture, stained carpet was a turn off along with tiny shower space & didn’t drain well- it’s dated. But comfortable beds and room was clean. Great pool, hot tub & good size sauna room.

rooms a little tight, was surprised there wasn't a microwave in the room. Good for an overnight stay

Liked the view of the lake from our room

The game room is only open during the summer. There was only a sheet on the beds. Property was under construction and very run down. Vending machines were practically empty. We didnt even stay the night, we left at 10 pm, we were not comfortable sleeping there. Place is also very creepy. Then on top of all that, they charged me twice and took extra money when we didnt even stay more than a couple hours. Still waiting for money taken to be reimbursed

Disappointed that my room was across the street from the actual resort. No Cross walk available to safely access the property. Outside by the lake was beautiful. Close to many things to do. Bed was very firm didn’t sleep well. Thin walls. Had to listen to someone else kids do bak flips and jump around until after midnight and start again at 5 am. Did not try the breakfast buffet. Off season so restaurant and bar not open. Which was a bit disappointing.

I was very impressed with this Hotel. It had a very impressive lobby and the Horel was spotless. The lake view was beautiful and watching the ducks was fun. They also had a wedding on propertywhile i was there and it is a wonderful spot for a wedding. Fireworks are held every evening there is a wedding and those were great also.

I was debating between this hotel and the Best Western Plus Landmark Inn, but decided I'd splurge on the Margate.
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the underground tunnel to get the pool was good for cold nights, but everything else was kind of meh. The hot tub was cold. The beach bar was closed for the season. They had it chained closed so you couldn't even sit there. The SPA was not open the days I was there.
The last day I was woken up by two buses for the Boys and Girls Club parked directly next to my window and the kids were out yelling and screaming.
The location might be nice during the summer since they are on the water, but during shoulder season it wasn't worth it. Next time I'll save a little money and give the Best Western a try.

The outside area of this property was very nice. The interior was a disappointment. Wallpaper was peeling all throughout the room, the bed and pillows left us restless and sore. Once chair in the room had a clearly sexual stain on it that was not cleaned up before we entered. The mini fridge had a ton of frost build up in it as well.

We stayed overnight for a family function and the accommodations were great I just didn’t realize there wasn’t an elevator to the second floor

Staff very friendly and helpful

Views were spectacular check in very easy & very pleasant my only issue was there was no signs or brochure in the room telling us where the restaurant or the pool was! It was kind of a guessing game? But all in all a great stay!

Such beautiful lake views from my room!!! Loved the pool, jacuzzi, beach by the lake, lake front bar-great drinks & food, AC in rooms was GREAT!!! Rooms were a little dated & could use a refresh, and parking was a challenge with two weddings going on, and odd that the restaurant at the resort is not open, but it was close to everything we needed: Weirs Beach, Bank of NH Pavilion & Meredith NH-we had a GREAT long weekend here! Would definitely come back!!

This hotel is a bit dated and on the expensive side but the location and the pretty beach is what you are paying for.

THE BEDS WHERE TERRIBLE. THE BATHTUB STOPPEER DIDNT WORK. NICE GLASS DOORS TO SEE THE LAKE BUT COULDNT OPEN TO GAIN FRESH AIR. BAR FOOD NO RESTAURANT. JACUZZI AND SAUNA AND POOL THESE ALL 3 WERE NICE. TEH STAFF WAS NICE AND RESPECTFUL. THE DOORS HAD TO BE PUSHED TO AMKE SURE THEY SHUT OR THEY WOULD STAY OPEN. THE WERE AHRD TO OPEN JUST TO GET IN THE ROOM. THE ROOM WAS DATED REAL BAD. SMALL SHOWERTHE CURTAIN WOULD TOUCH YOU WHILE SHOWERING. MY SECOND DAY WAS AWEFUL BECAUSE I COULDNT SLEEP I WAS UNABLE TO SLEEP IN THE BED. THEY WERE THE SMALLEST QUEEN SIZED BEDS I HAVE EVER SEEN. PLENTY OF PILLOWS. NO MICROWAVE.

Room smelled horribly of a low quality, strong air freshener that still didn't totally mask a musty smell in the room (we stayed in the inn across from the main bldg). Not what I would expect based on the cost of the room.
3.0
The hotel is very outdated and needs to be remodeled. The beds are stiff and make a ton of noise. We got shoved to the "inn" which had no elevator. Although it was only 2 stories, without my husband, I would have never been able to carry my bags myself up the stairs. The price seemed very expensive for what it was. It's the closest hotel to the amphitheater, so we had to stay here.

didn't get a room until 5:00, check in time was 4:00

Staff is very helpful and location is amazing.
Overall place needs to be updated, specially hallway and bedroom carpets. Doors need to be replaced, and AC units work great but very noisy. Beds need more comfortable mattresses.

Our room was across a busy street with no crosswalks. It was far from the main facility. This was not mentioned in the booking info prior and the staff was not helpful in helping us get a room in the main facility without incurring a huge up charge.

We stayed in the Inn, which was across the street. Very clean, with large sized rooms. Quiet too! The staff was happy and so very friendly. Great location! Grounds were clean and beautiful. Loved the fireworks after the weddings!

Loved the beach, the arcade it was all spectacular

The rooms were very clean and well kept, albeit a bit pricey for what it was. Still, if you need a place to stay, and don't mind paying the price of a new PlayStation 5 for what essentially felt like a cleaner Best Western room, you could do a lot worse

I was pleased that even though my family stayed at the Inn across the street from the main property, the amenities were easily accessible. The staff, from the front desk to the waterfront bar/restaurant waiters, were all very cordial. There were different evening events for the kids on the beach each night.
The only downside was the extra charges for the breakfast buffet and the 1hr kayak and paddle board rentals. These amenities did not seem so extra special, that I was surprised they were not included in the price of the stay.
Also, be aware that this is very much a family resort. There were kids, without adult supervision, weaving back and forth from the beach to the pool and hot tub. It wasn't an issue for my family, but a couple may want to look elsewhere.

First room we were given smelled of vomit. Staff was responsive and give us another room in the same building. That room was clean but decor was dated for a $360/nt accommodation. Beds were comfortable which was a plus.

We arrived at 2:00 and our room was not ready yet so we were granted use of the amenities, which were great! Waited for a phone call from the front desk telling us that our room was ready. Never received a call so I went to the front desk at 4:00 and room was still not ready. We did not get into our room until 4:35 which was disappointing! It was a very expensive 17 hours!

The individual checking us in very loudly told me about card issues and payment problems at check on even though I prepaid online. We paid a very large amount of money for a subpar hotel room with beds that were ok comfort wise. Amenities we were unable to see since we left very early so I cannot speak for those. The lobby was beautiful, but the rooms in my opinion were NOT worth the price

Very cute, mid-century resort! Absolutely immaculate rooms and grounds. Unobtrusive and fantastic staff. Lovely lake frontage. Outstanding lakeside bar with friendly bar tenders. Huge indoor pool up to 10’ in depth, a bit dated and chilly but very clean. Best breakfast during the summer. Try the danish- so flaky and delicious! Great for families and couples too.

Everyone was super friendly and clean but smoke alarm ran non stop and the toilet ran non stop, the rental equipment needs to be updated.

Convenient for us. Clean and tidy. Nice grounds.

The Margate is a tropical Oasis Paradise in your own backyard. It tops the kids favorite vacations so far Legoland, Disney, and the beaches. Beautiful and humble, the Margate will take you away the evenings on the lake reminiscent of camp. With all the games, activities, beachside food and drinks, pool, hot tub, sauna, spa, function space, fires, fires, and gym... Your family is sure to forget that life outside exists.

Access to the lake for swing plus a dock and a bar. Very clean. Disappointed with the outdoor pool being closed and the mattress were horrible to sleep on it.

It is very outdated but they are working on updates. It was very clean, everywhere. I am sure in the summer it is worth the $ but in the winter it was not.
