The hotel and waterpark offer a great setting for family stays, but it would benefit from a thorough cleaning. The hallway carpets were stained, and the rooms lacked sufficient furniture for storage. Nonetheless, the service provided was excellent. A significant drawback was the challenge of finding available chairs at the waterpark.

My family and I came and stayed at Wilderness at the Smokies for Spring Break 2024. The first night we were able to take the kids down swimming for about an hour or so because the waterpark closed at 9 (didnt know this until we got down there). After that we wanted to take the elevator to the second floor where the shops and grills are located (my mom had a double knee replacement and can't take the steps). We all loaded into the elevator and pushed the button for the second floor. The elevator moved but when we got to the second floor the doors wouldn't open. My daughter who is 12 started freaking out. I then told my nephew to push the button to go back down to floor 1, the elevator again moved but the doors would not open. I then told my nephew to push the door open button. Thankfully the doors opened and we were able to get out. However, when I went to the desk in the waterpark and told them about this incident the gentleman rolled his eyes at me and acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. We then went back to our room and never did return to the waterpark because it closed early and we wanted to explore around Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. There were multiple times that the elevators had an out of order sign on the doors and it was sometimes difficult to catch an elevator to even get down to the main floor. For the price of the rooms, the definitely did not meet expectations. Also, if you are over weight don't plan on using the waterslides bc they weight you.

I was a little disappointed in our stay at Wilderness at Smokies Stone Hill Lodge. First, the main lobby hallway (3rd floor) smelled like baby diapers filled with feces, as we walked to get to the elevator. Second, the hotel room was smaller than expected, and the bathroom was even smaller. Literally, only one person at a time could fit in the bathroom. The toilet paper holder continuously came off the wall. Also, we asked for a patio/balcony room. The screen to the patio would not lock, and it appeared to be slightly off track. Third, the only water park that was open was the indoor Wild Water Dome, and I was looking forward to my teenage daughters being able to experience all of the water parks. Last, we ran out of toilet paper and called guest services. After 10 minutes of not receiving the toilet paper, we called a second time asking if we should come get the toilet paper. The guest service personnel told us we just have to wait for it to be brought up. Since I needed to use the restroom, I went to the front desk, and they immediately gave me toilet paper. About 30 minutes later guest services was knocking on the door with toilet paper. For the price we were charged, I definitely think an upgrade of the rooms and carpet is necessary. The one good thing I can say is our floor was very quiet, and we were able to rest well after being out and about all day. I'm not convinced that my family and I will visit again.

The indoor waterpark and other amenities were great. The room was a bit smaller than expected, and the pull out sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable.

My only real complaint is that the bathroom is tiny and dark. Complete tight quarters and there wasn’t a good light in the bathroom. Hotel is definitely older and some stuff is outdated however it is super clean. The waterpark was supposedly warmed to 84 degrees. However it was cold. I did complain and was told that maintenance would be notified. However it was still cold the next day. The lazy river was warm thank goodness.

We thoroughly enjoyed spring break here! The location was great and every hotel building had things to do in it. Its very close to the strip where there's tons of stuff to do as well. The wave pool and lazy river were our favorite and we enjoyed an arcade night with laser tag. Our room was very clean and house keeping did a great job bringing fresh towels and linens. We are already planning to return for fall break or next years spring break.
