La Rosa Hotel

La Rosa turned out to be the most unusual hotel we've ever stayed in. The location is excellent, the ground floor tea rooms barely used but tables perfect for board games and jigsaw puzzles. Stairs quite a lot so do check if you have mobility issues. Rooms what can I say very atmospheric and quirky so check the photos carefully so you know what you are signing up for. No TV hallelujah. No shower but hey we have one at home whereas we don't have an old fashioned deep bath so what an experience. Staff were friendly, as was the elderly dog who was clearly in overall charge. Definitely a holiday to remember.

Wonderful stay in Scarbados at this friendly, funky and brilliantly sited hotel. The view from our room was straight across to the Abbey. Very enjoyable continental breakfast and lovely deep roll top bath. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to avoid dull corporate hotels. Our only slight negative was the fact it was not as comfortable as our own bed and it was very warm for sleeping despite the fan provided.

La Rosa is one on it's own. It's a unique place to stay. If you're wanting the general grey, black and white decorations then don't go there. It is Victorian in style and they have obviously searched all over to find little artifacts to match the theme of the rooms, each one different. The views over the harbour and wide open sea and over to the Abbey are incredible. The staff are really friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. John the dog will bark a welcome each time you come in. A special shout out to Rob who we saw most - the music he played was brilliant when we had a night in the cocktail bar playing Scrabble. No fridge is the only down point, and I am scraping the barrel here, cos they gave me a little ice bucket to keep milk for tea and coffee in so we were fine. Really loved it and we will be back.
