Amazing characterful place, plenty of history. Friendly and helpful staff. Food at the restaurant was very good.
Although the pub was very old, and full of character the room was in need of modernisation (secondary glazing would've kept the street noise out in the morning), and the bathroom was very dated, chips in the bath, and didn't feel clean. Lighting in the bathroom was poor, (no window) plus the extractor didn't work.

Characterful old pub which is delightfully quirky, centrally located and with a good breakfast.
Not much the owners can do but parking is a bit of an issue - need to plan arrival time carefully to get a space in the car park down the road and then walk up to the pub with luggage. I guess you could drop off a member of your group at the door the then find somewhere to park.

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, lovely and well cooked breakfast.
Our room was very spacious and we loved staying in such a historic building, but needs a deep clean and decorating.

"In the heart of Whitby, right by all the hot spots. Quirky old building, real cosy vibes!"
