we stayed in the penthouse which has a huge terrace, outdoor seating area and incredible views. fab breakfasts, really good Wi-Fi.

the apartment gets quite hot - no air con - but they do provide lots of fans.

We loved the room, Lara was super helpful throughout our stay and the hotel breakfast was super nice. There was also free water at any time.

Lovely staff, breathtaking view over Unawatuna and the ocean. It's less noisy than directly in Unawatuna. A great place to relax and observe the nature. we saw monkeys and squirrels, birds... We loved this area and hope to come back.

The views from the property were amazing with a spacious balcony and very comfy bed. The shower was lovely and had nice hot water whenever we needed it.

The walk to the town was only a short walk but the walk back is all up hill and could be quite challenging as it is quite steep. When we came to check out the owner did not have any change, even though we explained that we would be paying in USD when we checked in. This meant that after check out we had to go and find somewhere to exchange dollars, which was very inconvenient. Also we asked to get some laundry done and when it was returned it most of it was still very very damp, which meant we couldn't pack it.

The owner of Lara's place is really friendly and makes you feel welcome from the very start, with his wife making some fantastic breakfast's for us each morning. The view from our balcony was outstanding and the views of the beach during breakfast as well were truly breathtaking.

The location is far from other amenities, so be prepared to walk. We went when there was little fuel, so we had to walk very far to places. But this is the price to pay for for such a scenic and peaceful location.

Lovely, spacious and clean rooms with a beautiful balcony overlooking the sea. Bed was very comfortable and the AC was good and kept the room nice and cold.

It was located high up on a hill about a 15-20 minute walk from the nearby beach/town. Was difficult walking up in the heat and it was more expensive and difficult to get the Tuk Tuk to go all the way up to the property.

Lara is very friendly and has an excellent guesthouse for your stay in Unawatuna! Very comfortable, beautiful views over the bay and lovely breakfast. Also very quiet because it's a bit outside the village and atop of a hill. Beach is close by, just walk down the hill. Highly recommended!

The walk into town takes about 30 minutes, or you'll have to take a tuktuk.

Stayed for one night. Steap way up the hill, but no problem for our tuktuk. Friendly Owner and Family. Room was beautiful, also the bathroom. It was very clean. Breakfast really yummie with typical Sri Lankan food. View from the top roof was amazing. We would recommend the place and visit again.

Amazing location and we had the most beautiful apartment! The views and our balcony were to die for! 😍 The apartment had everything you needed. Breakfast was beautiful and homemade in front of you every morning. Each morning breakfast was different and very traditional. Lara cannot do enough for you! He is the perfect host! He is helpful and let us hire a scooter to get around. He always wants the best for his guests and will go out of his way to provide this. İ have never seen that much of bugs in a room. Perfect for Sir Darwin but not for us. Cant use balcony due to insects army after sunset. Location is not close to the unawatuna beach but not a problem with a car. They did not except credit card due to a problem with banks. We had to give last bucks to them.

Lara’s place was absolutely stunning, the best value for money place we have stayed in Sri Lanka! The rooms are well designed, comfortable, with a great balcony and seating outside, and that’s not even the best part! The rooftop breakfast area had stunning views, and the breakfasts were the best we had during our 2 week trip. different on each day and delicious Sri Lankan food. Lara was helpful and kind and we were super happy with our time at his place

it is up a steep hill so you have to pay a premium to get a tuk-tuk up there but it’s really not that bad at all. worth it for the views, and the amazing price

This place is the best thing in Unawatuna. We didn't even want to go to the cafes or spend time anywhere else in the town. It was perfect in our room) The breakfast, the views, the service - everything was wonderful! If somebody worries about the way up to the hill - this is what keeps you fit after huge breakfast 😅

The location of this property is beautiful, the view from the balcony and restaurant is stunning. The rooms are decorated so well and have everything you need and super comfy bed. The highlight was the staff, the guy that works there (I can’t remember his name) was so so friendly and helpful he was a real pleasure to talk to and made the stay perfect! Also the breakfast was the best we had in 4 weeks in Sri Lanka!!

The views from room and restaurant were fabulous, breakfast was superb, Keeta and Sujeeva (breakfast staff and cleaner) were a credit to the hotel and made it special , balcony was lovely and spacious, animals and nature within touching distance, bed comfy
