One of the budget friendly as well as well maintained hostels in jaislamer. The staff was very supportive, there were some issues with me regarding the atm. But thanks to Mr. Lucky, I was able to sort that out. The desert safari they offered was great. Got a chance to sleep under the stars as well as make some new international connections. They even offered a free pickup and drop off even though it was walkable from the bus station. I would prefer to stay here again for my next visit.

Hostel desert Homestay is a very good located guest house, good pricing and with an amazing view from desert Cafe. Lucky will make everything to make your stay comfortable. He is a friendly and polite guy. They also organise safari tour, it’s a particular experience in the desert that I’d recommend to anyone here in Jaisalmer:) A bonfire and the stars in the desert are just something memorable to experience!

Really friendly Hostel workers, Lucky was very nice and good to talk to. The Camel Safari was great and to see the Stars in the Desert was an incredible experience. They even let me use the shower after checkout and i could stay to relax.

Lucky greeted us like princess.He organizd for us the camel safari in the desert with a night under the stars and kept the luggage for free during this time. All room are tucked away in Jaisalmer 's wall. We had lunch and breakfast on the rooftop which offers a magnificent view of the city. Great hostel. I recommend it 200 percent!

Lovely staff and location very good property. Lucky was really helpful and organized a camel safari in the desert, where we slept in the open and ate amazing food cooked over a fire by Hussain and Akbar. A nighttime open-sky desert tour through Hotel Desert is highly recommended! Incredible trip. The fort is situated on the right. Great view of the city and fort from the terrace, and good restaurant food. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The staff are amazing - Lucky answered all our questions and helped us arrange the desert safari. Then the staff during the desert trip (our driver, our camel guide, our cook, etc.). They were also incredibly kind and hospitable. Highly recommend the open sky night desert trip. The hospitality at the hotel and in the desert exceeded expectations.

Ideal for budget travellers and others too. Room and toilet were reasonably clean. Staff (Lakshman/Lucky) were polite and helpful. Location is too good. View from the upper dining area is fab. I stayed in a budget room but I had a look at one of the fancier rooms - it was real good with a view and all. Right now there's no food available here, but right next door is another place owned by the same people, has food and a even better view. I learned that this place is actually owned by a cooperative - people from a nearby village pooled money to run this place, one more reason to stay here. Lakshman can arrange for a auto - I wanted to reach Bada Baug at sunrise and Salim (the auto guy) made sure I got there on time. Totally recommended, this place. Attached pic of budget room.

Location is extremely wonderfull as it is located within the premises of Fort on the edge..u have got perfect view of skyline of city from the window of room,rooftop is a plus point of this hostel.Before booking here I have many que in my mind wether it may be good or not or worth for money... But as soon as I entered in this hostel,I got a very positive vibes...In reality it is more beautifull than the profile photos of property on the various platforms. Trust me as I am anonymous to evry1 but whn u stay here u dont have any regret... ❤

Lucky the owner was wonderful and so accommodating. He even picked us up from the bus station at 10am! He helped us to organise an untouristy camel trip into the Thar Desert which was amazing. You must do it if you visit! The rooms were incredible with rustic Rajasthani charm and comfy beds.

I really enjoyed Desert Homestay. The location is perfect: set in the maze of lanes in the fort it has a lot of atmosphere and is fairly quiet. From the rooftops ( 1 covered, 1 to enjoy the sun) you can enjoy perfect views over the whole city far into the desert and sunrise ans sunset are breathtaking. I went there every morning to enjoy the first rays of sun with some coffee and yoga. The place is very clean and rooms plus the common spaces are very comfortable and nicely decorated even with lots of flowering potted plants on the terrasse. On top of everything staff there is soooo nice, always ready to help ( good English, so there is no misunderstanding) , cooking really nice food ( the tali was one of the best I ate in India) and we often sat chatting on the roof. I can only recommend staying there and I agree with a friend writing to me a few days after we had left: " we should have stayed longer".Camel safari was very good. Lucky had organized the jeep and camel and food perfectly. The driver took us to a natural lake, which was so calming, and after that to a deserted village and an old desert fort before we met the camels and started riding to our place in the dunes. It was really great being on a camel and moving meditatively through the desert area seeing goats, birds, camels and deer. It was real fun walking barefoot up and down the dunes and when we got back they had a fire going with tea and snacks followed by a gourmet dhal bat. It was the first time in India that it was totally quiet at night just as Lucky had promised me and it was so impressive lying in your bed with the stary sky above you.

This was one of my best stays in India so far and I felt at home here. I initially planned to stay 1 days and ended up staying a week. Lucky is very friendly and welcoming and goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable.The rooms are spacious, clean and have a great sitting area by the window. It's perfectly located inside the fort with great views from the rooftop and beautiful sunsets. It's also a nice place to meet other travelers and just chill out. I hope to be back some day.
