We were incredibly underwhelmed by our stay.. + the house is gorgeous.. and the aesthetic and decor are definitely the highlight. Sadly, a lot of the rest of the house feels .. lacking. - the water pitcher/filter was so gross. We cleaned it out but didn’t use it. - the ice tray in the freezer was also gross.. cleaned that too then didn’t use it (went and bought ice instead) - there is mildew/mold in the freezer.. didn’t clean that.. we were already kind of tired of cleaning. - the fridge/freezer need lightbulbs replaced -there were zero washcloths/kitchen towels in the kitchen.. we used a hand towel from the bathroom -there is zero cupboard space for food -there IS a coffee machine, but the cord doesn’t reach the outlet— we had to do rearranging #annoying -the button on the sink sprayer was so sticky, we made a water mess every time we turned on the faucet ..more cleaning -the hot tub was really disappointing.. one of the major draws for us, we were disappointed to find it discolored, half full and full of “floaters”. We did our best to troubleshoot, but after finding the hoses/outdoor spigots unmanageable, we contacted the owners. Nothing was urgent.. we had to press the issue again in the morning. We were disappointed and felt unimportant. They did end up sending someone. He added water/chemicals and changed the filter.. didn’t seem to clean anything before adding the water though because sadly it was still pretty murky. -there is zero privacy from neighbors (from hot tub). A privacy screen would be appropriate. -there are zero window coverings on the main floor.. the house is on a busy Main Street with lots of walking traffic.. we were in a fishbowl! -the 2nd floor windows opened completely and there were no screens. -the toilet paper roll was sitting on the toilet, not the holder.. little details, big details? -the bathrooms lack trash containers -when the hot tub wasn’t functional on the first night, we promised the kids a soak in the advertised claw-foot tub.. unfortunately, the dials that switched the shower-to-tub faucet didn’t work so a bath couldn’t happen -there were two separate “hidden” stacks of old mail..postmarked from at least 6mos ago.. -the basement was dark and missing lightbulbs.. we had to move some around to have lighting where we needed it -the sheets had hair/lint.. a quality sheets would help avoid this.. This property isn’t getting the attention it deserves. Definitely not worth $$$ night -
