L'Avventura

There was no breakfast but we knew that and did not expect it. The location was fine. the walk up the hill in the mud and rain was a bit daunting but we did it. You can’t help that one stretch of the road into town is not paved. It was close enough to the beach and town to allow walking. Parking was very good. We didn’t use the pool but it was really nice looking and always clean. There was no noise from neighbors but there were also only 2 units rented when we were there. The extra drying racks were very useful considering how much we were in the rain. The bed was comfortable. We did not cook or use any of the kitchen stuff except to make coffee but it looked like it had all the basics.

Because of the large, west facing wall of windows, it was very hot during the day. We were there at the end of September. The AC worked really well but it took several hours to cool the place down when we came in the room in the afternoon, even with the curtains closed. The curtains look really great but their functionality was not. Black out shades would help with both the heat and the very early morning sun rise. It was full daylight by 5:00 am. We had 2 bath towels but one was full size and the other was quite a bit smaller. That was just a little odd. The toilet tank took a very long time to fill post flushing.

Easy to find with a great location—an easy walk to town. The hill on the way back up is manageable, just hot depending on the time of day. Parking is conveniently right in front of the building, and we felt extremely safe the entire stay. The boutique apartments are beautiful inside and out with a lovely aesthetic. Simple and very well thought out, with all the essentials you need. In addition to bath towels, they provide two beach towels and two Turkish towels—such a nice touch! You can also request fresh towels daily. The location is quiet, with guests of all ages. We had a balcony unit and loved watching the sunset from outside. The outdoor seating areas are perfect for both mornings and evenings. WiFi was reliable and never an issue. There is some construction nearby, but that seems to be happening all over Tamarindo—you’d be hard-pressed to avoid it anywhere. On days we wanted more upscale beach seating, we rented chairs at Ocho Bungalows Beach Club. Plenty of great coffee shops and restaurants nearby, especially The Dragonfly. Would absolutely stay here again.

The bedspread. Too lightweight. We asked for a thicker blanket and were given another lightweight one.

Our room did not have a little sit down area (table and chairs), not enough space to hang clothes for a week stay and water pressure was too low (probably due to the water shortages)

Grocery quiet and clean

Nothing! We absolutely loved it.
