This is a wonderful gem right in the heart of Comayagua's Casco Antiguo, and smacked in the heart of "restaurant row." The entire hotel is colonial style packed with antiquities. You have to be there to enjoy the beauty. If you enter through the lobby´s door (left), you would feel you entered an old two-hundred year old colonial era vestible. If you enter through the other door (right), you will walk right into a beautiful old style saloon bar with a nice wooden bar and tables. The central courtyard is beautiful and so are the rooms. We stayed in a King Suite with a balcony towards the courtyard. Very nice bed, AC and bathroom. Hallways are packed with chairs, benches and antiquities. But that is the physical part of it. The staff is unbelievably friendly, almost as if they have known you for years, or if you were family. They go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. Breakfast? Nicely served at your order, in the courtyard. A typical Honduran breakfast they will prepare they way you like. Food? Walk outside and your problem would be which restaurant to go. And don’t be deceived, you may seat at an table outside and be taken care of by two servers from two different restaurants. For example, if you go to La Pizzeria, because you want one of their awesome pizzas (try the five-beef), but want an exquisite wine (try Cal y Canto, a nice Tempranillo with some Merlot and Shiraz), and a nice chorizo, you may find yourself in a second floor room enjoying the view (photo), and taken care of by two servers. The food is divine! Manos Uruguayas and La Pizzeria are a must. The Cathedral is a 5-minute walk. Iglesia La Merced, the very first and oldest church in Honduras, is a 2-minute walk. Visit the Museo Antropológico, a must, and the other museums just a few minutes walk. But if you don´t want to walk much, just sit at one of the beautiful plazas, and enjoy life. The hotel arranges friendly transportation to the airport.

The colonial style and location

There was a lot of dust, beds were uncomfortable, you could hear all the noise coming from the kitchen and people talking in the hallway.
