Property was fine. Near the beach. There was a tenant that was a little sketchy but i stayed away from him. I only wish there was better parking closer to my room.

Where to begin. This was my husband and I first time visiting Ventura. The beaches are beautiful. This inn has newly renovated rooms that were really nice. The front staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the close proximity to dining, downtown and the beach. On our first night at this property it was really loud outside in the parking lot. There was a group of people drinking and being loud, leaning close to my parked car. My husband and I did not feel safe leaving the room. Lots of sketchy people coming in and out of the property. We ended up leaving early from our trip we did not want to stay on our second planned night here. Looks as if the govt. is using this location to house homeless individuals.

I arrived at 9pm, was given card key to my room, carried my stuff from the car, only to find the room had not been cleaned from the previous guest: bed was unmade, towels on the floor, garbage in the trash. I put my stuff back in the car, went to the front desk, only to find the receptionist had locked the lobby and gone on a break for 15 minutes. Once she opened up the lobby, I told her about the room. She complained to someone on the phone, but told me she didn't have another room. She offered to call La Quinta Hotel for me, but I declined because I didn't know anything about that hotel. I had to find another hotel after 9:30 pm, sleepy and with two dogs. I filed a complaint on Best Western's site a few days ago, but have not heard back yet.

Overall nice place to stay I will stay again.

Great view of the Ventura Pier from our room and really friendly staff. This is a perfect location for walkability.

We especially liked the layout of our room and the location near the pier and beach.

The front desk clerk was rude, had no customer service, was not friendly and had attitude with the guests in front me and with us. The room was clean and comfortable. There were bums that you can see through the window behind the hotel that we saw in the hotel roaming and that looked very sketchy. Definitely a place to stay for one night just to rest but did not feel at ease seeing what was going on behind the hotel. Wouldn’t recommend to stay there longer than a day.

Check in was easy, hotel was very clean. You’re close to a lot of nice restaurants and a cool playground for the kiddos. My only complaint would be that if traveling with little ones bring a lock of some sort. The secondary lock is low enough that my 2 year old could get it off, we ended up putting the dresser in front of the door to ensure our little guy couldn’t escape in the middle of the night. Pool is closed also just an FYI

Room was nice, clean and updated. The only draw back was the fridge was leaking and the carpet was wet. Other than that the room was great and the price was fair. Would definitely recommend

Customer service was great and helpful. Really can’t control the “characters” that stay there, but overall, the room was clean and spacious (for a motel-style layout). The AC was good and appreciate free breakfast (even with grab and go style). Location was also great. Would stay here again.

No real problems except we were not told while booking the hotel was being renovated. Noisy all the time. Hard to relax.

The place is being remodeled although there was no noise while I was there. Convenient location to other hotels and downtown Ventura. Room was comfy enough and clean. Nice vanity area. Would stay again if in the area.

The motel is fine. The beach is great.

Stayed in Ventura so as to visit the Channel Islands National Park. The mini-fridge came in handy, so I could store sandwich fixings and take a decent lunch to the islands with me. Kept the beer cold too. My hotel room had a hardwood floor, which I didn't care for. The maids kept turning on lots of lights in my room and leaving them on. I'd rather a dark and more energy efficient room service. But as a place to stay while doing lots of other things, the Best Western Plus was just fine. I'd stay there again for sure. Nice short walk to downtown too. The staff were helpful.

The experience didn't start out so good. We arrived into town a few hours early and they wouldn't let us check in until 4. They also wanted to charge for a crib even though the website stats they are free of charge. They also do NOT have a restaurant like the website says but there are a few within walking distance. Overall the rest was good. The rooms are nice and updated and very clean.

The actual room itself was great, but they put me right next to their hotel construction so I was woken up around 7am by the loud noise when I wanted to sleep in. I wasn’t warned about this ahead of time.

Hotel was recently updated. Everything was new and clean. My only complaint was that now the floors are laminate, you can hear EVERYTHING the people above you are doing. The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful, the breakfast had a great selection, and I liked being so close to the ocean- perfect for a morning walk.

I've stayed at this hotel before and didn't realize it until I got there. The rooms are comfortable. I love the set up with a vanity area next to the bathroom and that there is a refrigerator and microwave. Half the property is being renovated so the parking lot was cut in half. There are railroad tracks close by so you will hear the trains going by.

Clean room, near areas of interest and easy access to Ojai. Staff never fulfilled promise to bring additional coffee packets to room. Breakfast was very satisfying for a continental buffet. Worst experience in being so close to a train and sounded its whistle and rumbled on the tracks located right outside our room's window. Shook room and this was on the Sunday that we had already lost 1 hour's sleep due to the time change! Suggest that hotel not utilize the rooms located in the back - especially room No. 226.

I would stay here again, the place was very nicely remodeled.

As we drove up we were unimpressed with the look of the hotel; however, our room was great! The rooms have been renovated; contemporary, comfortable, clean, quality materials; walking distance to restaurants and beach.

Rooms were super small but perfect for what we needed. Very clean with a comfy bed. Try not to get a room by the stairs, they are very noisy. We did not take advantage of the free breakfast but it looked decent. Fast check in and out.

At first glance I thought it was going to be a cheap hotel but was pleasantly surprised. Rooms have been renovated. Nicely laid out. Bathroom was roomy enough. Breakfast was great and staff very friendly and helpful.

Ok so the room and location are prime for the price but the thing I want to talk about is the breakfast. Usually complimentary hotel breakfasts are so-so and you never really think about it after you're done unless it was an afterthought like hmmm... probably shouldn't have eaten that grey sausage. Well this is NOT the case at Best Western of Ventura. I mean seriously... they had everything. Potatoes, normal colored and delicious sausage, bacon, fluffy eggs, waffles if that's your thing, cereal, bagels AND MORE! A couple girlfriends and I stayed here to have a place to crash after visiting some bars in the area and the location of the hotel is very very nice. But before going out, we hit up the hot tub which is CRYSTAL CLEAR!!! No murky, sketchy water. So yeah, this place rocked. We absolutely loved our stay! Best motel ever.

The hotel is older but they are upgrading. Our room was very nice and in a great location you could walk anywhere you needed. Went to see Dwight Yoakam at the Majestic Theater in Ventura and the walk was only about 8 min. The show ended at 11:00p.m. And the walk back to hotel was very comfortable. Wasn't nervous at all and we were 2 women one in 50s and the other in 60s. Definitely recommend this place.

It looked as if a few of the rooms were seeing major renovation. The room itself was clean, no frills. The property itself looked as if it also needed a face lift; the pool looked none too inviting. If you're on a budget, I'd say it is definitely worth the money- provided you're looking for proximity to the beach and a basic, clean room.
